I'm not taking that from a south african :p Fair enough I can't remember what I said to him though lol. He just ignored me so he got off easy. that moan moan cry wasn't nice of you. I'm allowed to say what I like If you don't like my "moaning" then you better fucking sort it out quick because it's not my problem. You just wreck it.

Your moaning isnt on topic, and childish, especially on a very technical forum.

Yeah but thanks for taking the time to point it out off topic again. This happens and yes it is childish but maybe we lost our sense of humour, perhaps i was out of line and I took the "say anything you want thread" too literally.
And we've all been off topic for a while so back on topic we could take this nonsense to chatbox.
    Damn.

You're right. I was thinking the same thing. Action time.

OK, he's been given 2 days time out. We welcome him back as long as he grows up and understands his is a forum for more mature (ish) conversation.

I'd rather see some sort of option to have the chatbox follow me around the site as a toggle sidebar (similar to Facebook's chat system).

But I guess that would depend on what plugins the board supports.

THIS and a longer log displayed so I won't need to search for a message posted 5 minutes ago in the search box just scroll for it.

^ yes, but that's hard to do with big portions of users equally distributed over America, Europe and Australia ;)

    Official snack of this thread.

I used to think IRC would be good for this forum, but then I hit 50 posts and got the chatbox, now I don't see the point.

Only thing I reckon it needs is a list of who's currently online. Or since it's part of a web page, who has typed a message on to it in the last 5 minutes.

Chatbox on all pages requires much much more cpu resources and isn't doable.

If there was a chat that's moderated by a designated IRC moderator chosen from the forum members it should be fine. One could implement the chat into the site as a java applet. I saw that before and it worked very well, people who are more into it can still join with their IRC client but this way one wouldn't exclude all those who don't wanna go IRC just because of assemblergames.

    No Facebook-chat please lol.

If there's any way to not do it as a Java applet that'd be good, since Java blows and is full of exploits these days.
