Korea is used to do the animation (ie any movement on screen) since they work more faster and efficent. Also cost is a huge factor. Disney use to have some of their shows animated in japan but they stoped doing that after the mid 90s. From what mike judge has said its pretty clean and efficent over there from the animation he saw being done when he was visiting once. I'm guessing then american animation is done in south korea?
So? is still an american corporation... And the simpsons have been animated in korea since season 4 or something, is not big news...
Fred, just read IGN's review of Resistance. They took what appears to be just a standard FPS and glorified it to a 9.1/10 calling it a "flagship title" (I guess it is when you have nothing more to call a proper game). The visuals arent even close to say Gears of War , Viva Pinata or Kameo ( complexity and technic-wise) and I m willing to bet that if the game was released on a previous gen console it would be just another lame formulaic shooter.
This reminds me the early days of the PS2 when sony was paying everybody to say good thinks about that piece of crap... Remember daily radar?
The Japanese will hate the PS3? Informations are from REUTERS "1,200 people in the meandering line" - maybe the shops listed in the first posting who doesnt sell the PS3 are thinking about that they better sell the PS3... http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=technologyNews&storyID=2006-11-11T112646Z_01_SP136538_RTRUKOC_0_US-SONY.xml&WTmodLoc=Home-C5-technologyNews-2 Maybe its too early to say who will hate which system...
Actually last I heard that news was a rumour. Sony was still shooting for 100,000 systems at initial launch  nice. Yodoboshi(sp?) confirmed having 1,000 units available for launch - and that was just one store (that leaves 200+ broken hearts!, not counting the other stores). I'm starting to doubt if I'd be able to get my unit at launch. cross fingers -Concura
This is actually a really funny quote seeing that buying prototype retro-games just for collecting them for the same price is perfectly fine on this forum Gaming is a hobby. Hobbies cost money, PS3 is a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a high-end camera or whatever for other hobbies. I can't wait to get my hands on a PS3, but being in Europe I have to fucking wait to March to get one
Yes, I do remember the original Daily Radar. I remember that it was orders of magnitude better than the crap "news" sites like IGN and Gamespot that we have to deal with now.
prototypes = something that not every greedy bastard without the relative knowledge can get their dirty mitts on. Ps3= an inheretely expensive piece of gaming machine that is accessible to joe public, requires no specific knowledge to own, and plays games just like any other console, without some sort of myth or background related to it, unlike prototypes/beta. Price of prototype: Expensive because number of objects are limited, hard to come by , and need background reading and discipline to appreciate Price of PS3: just expensive for no apparent reason, since it is JUST another gaming machine. Resale price for prototypes: Mostly constant, often ascending, rarely discending Resale price for PS3: on the down since the day you buy it (ebay/hype excluded) Hmmm...let me think then, where should I blow 600 dollars... By the way, Gaming IS a hobby yes. A hobby that used to cost much less, but thanks to 360 and Ps3 we re slowly getting that relatively cheap dose of fun squeezed out of us. Remember folks, expensive add-ons and funky consoles with high price tags never caught for a reason.. people who did consider gaming as their hobby werent willing to spend that much. Unfortunately, PS being the dominant brand today in the gaming sector, third party support and alas, gamers *have* to follow to stay in the game. Thank god for Nintendo for offering an alternative (Although 250 dollars is still a price that mocks us)
That last picture is funny the fuckin box is bigger that the dude holding it. Probably outwieghs him too, isn't that the reason they didn't like XBoX? ....Duely noted, it's a chick or a small boy.
100% agree, we could say the same about gaming PCs and parts. I still remember when an expensive GPU was $200. Now that belongs to the low-mid end, since the new 8800 is $600 or even more. Nah, that was hypocrisy, and I think she's a girl, not a dude...
Sorry, I edited my original post, look above. It's a chick. But dude or no dude that thing looks like a box for a refrigerator compared to the one the 360 comes in.
