SO? he's still a hourding asshole..... how is that stupidity? Or do you just have a bias against me or something? Not that I don't deserve it my past here isn't well spotless but COME ON try to see it my way.

This guy clearly has a problem

Coins and Stamps have little value outside collecting for artistic merit.
You can't admire a game's artistic Merit when it's sealed.

If it really was just 1 of each game for collecting and 1 for playing , that I can understand. But from all the pictures he has like a bazillion copies of nearly everything.

So it gets grey for me right about that point.

I thought this forum was for MEMBER game collections, not just posting links to other websites?

an awesome collection in terms of quantity & cost, however its really not hard to collect a full ps2 set as long as you have money: its the most commercial console of all times, hence it has no really "rare" games. as long as you got cash you can easily buy every game in the book, I (and we all) know of other systems where some games are simply impossible to find, coz there have been made only a few hundred or even thousand of a certain game.

that being said: any complete collection is proof of great dedication & deserves respect

The visual appeal of stamps and coins is immediately apparent.

A games' appeal comes in the form of it being a game, to be played.

Therefore your stamps vs games argument is invalid.

Don't know about all the hate going on here. It is his money so who the fuck cares how he spends it I'd love to have a full set PS2 collection (though not necessarily sealed) and congratulate him on his accomplishment.

I also don't get people bitching about people that "hoard rare games". Why blame them because they have foresight. Not sure about you folks but with maybe one or two rare exceptions I can't think of a single game I couldn't get on release that wasn’t due to my own laziness.

But I think a game can appeal to a person in ways beyond just playing it (like visual appeal) so it is not invalid.

It can also be seen as a tribute to a game one liked in particular. For instance, if someone played many Super Nintendo games in the past and there's a certain magic attached to the old memories of game shops, then it's possible that this person enjoys collecting Super Nintendo games he had known and played for ages in brand-new condition.

That's of course just an example, the majority sees it like an investment I guess. Although a PS2 sealed collection will probably never be worth as much as the owner had to pay for it.

Nice, indeed. BUT he misses a lot of great j-only exclusives (as I understand he has a US full set). Ntsc-j sealed full set would cost about five times more))
