Yes. The 8XXX kernal thing, I wouldn't expect to see 8XXX exactly like that, I'd expect to see some changes to it.. If that is it. I'll try and grab some more info for you guys..
Will the 8XXX be able to be loaded onto my 07 HDMI kit as It will be here tomorrow I dont want to not be able to upgrade the thing once I finally get it. Also how much ram is on a normal test kit with sidecar? Hawk
I almost pissed myself! anyway, I remember the day when devkits were shy and rarely showed their skin in public pictures - nowadays there are press releases about them? Although the sidecar tells me it's 'proper' dev hardware something inside me yearns some form of net-yarozesque availability so I can snatch one up! btw, XNA is also used by devs proper, not just hobbyists. nevertheless, the following screenshot is clearly aimed to make game-making accessible to idiots, children and all of us on the boards, although I still can't decide which side we're on =p fingers crossed. could be a "retail" development kit, a redevkit the name of the developing software is Kodu, a play on code naturally, but seemingly marketed to kids. I m so getting one when they come out, whatever the price =)
Keep it civil. It looks "blingtastic" so it must be for the general public, like the yaroze. I bet it's going to be $200 more than the elite, not play any beta discs and be limited to the shit tools for non industry xna.
Makes no sense to me to make a dev kit this nice looking. It's a dev tool, not a shelf piece... to me, Microsoft is just asking people to sell this thing on the black market, no developer would care what it looked like.... though it looks amazing Jeff.
WOuld you rather have that or the normal 360 dev, as a developer while your making a game. Id rather look at the shiny blue one. Anyways I hope when they say registered developers they mean registered XNA developers :] cuz I am one of those:nod: i geuss we will see. Ill probably end up getting one either way.
Dark, I probably have no preference as long as it didn't red ring on me... the larger memory is nice, but no need for pretty casings, thats for sure!! Still makes no sense to me. If its for XNA dev's then I'll get one, but I doubt that's the case. J.
If I had the patience and stuff to do an XNA game, I want to do something with claymation graphics like Neverhood. I actually really like that idea. I have playdo right here too.
There are a few out that have 1GB; I know a guy with a few of them. The XNA SDK and the official, dev SDK have mostly the same tools, they're 95% the same as each other, the only difference is the libraries used, and the official SDK has a few extra applications.
It's not a RETAIL DEVKIT. It's just the new devkit for developers. The 8XXX will more than likely work on any final hardware older kits. Logically thinking, if they hadn't, Microsoft would've screwed themselves on money, because half of the industries wouldn't be able to upgrade, and would need new kits, and Microsoft wouldn't screw people out like that, so as a solution they'd need to send out new kits, which they aren't doing. tdlr; Older kits as long as they're final, will upgrade. And the new launcher doesn't have many more features at all, infact very little, though the new look is cool.. But I would've liked to stay with my blue dash. Anyways the kits don't take any much more money to make, they'll go about the same, but for the first months there won't be many for sale underground... and if you do they'll be going for alot, regardless that the actual value isn't much more than another one.
kool i want one in retail i like my eltie dev console with grey sidecar though it looks awesome next to my white retail and soon to be ps3 test
