Lol, I knew you'd bring that up! I'd like to point out that due to the multi-tasking framwork of the mac (Yes, I did just pull those words out of my arse), all that crashed was MSN messenger (Made by a certain Redmond company, I happen to believe), whilst the OS remained intact. Ha!
I used to get errors when trying to send pics to AWS all the time on MSN messenger. I could NEVER get a Desktop background pic of Metal Wolf: Chaos over there.
Look I was talking about comercials, not the eternal debate of PCsVSMACs that we old know never brings anything new to the table. And yeah, everybody uses cute and cool people in their commercials, there's even an study that shows how reliable is that, but there a quantum difference between that and using a cool guy against and old/ ugly one. That's called "contrast asumption", and is when they sell you a product by bashing the "other one". If they used this mac guy against the dell dude we could call that even, but since they used the stereotype of the office dork you cant say they aren't insulting the PC and their user base. And if MS or any other company did something even remotely like this you can be asured apple would sue them, and the maclovers would trash their sites with a wave of SPAM. They did it in the past and they would do it again.
Actually, the vast majority of PC users are your "typical" office people. The people that may feel comfortable in the programs that they use every day, but may have difficulty installing or adapting to new software. I perceived the older guy in the Mac commercials to represent a typical end user. As such, Apple is doing nothing more than pandering to their own users and further alienating typical PC users.
