The New Laptop...and the story behind it

....I am not literally going to light a match and burn my bank down. But here's what happend.

USUALLY I buy things like this I pay through my dad then pay him back. BUT due to Dental Bills his Credit Card is maxed out or VERY CLOSE to it.

To avoid him having to do this again, I was going to buy my Laptop by Check.
Guess what happens?

CHECK DECLINED. My guess is my ID isn't tied to my Bank Account OR the Check Number had been torn off. Either way........I AM GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY AT MY BANK.

So My DAD......had to use his credit card....I promptly gave him the $853 check so he can pay the Credit Card company right away and not max his card out.

But I feel horrible about it. I wanted to avoid this whole thing to begin with by paying by check but my bank hates me and only wants my money.

I'm switching Banks ASAP needless to say

Anyway here's the Laptop.

Let me guess, do you have Bank of America? Okay, maybe not, but I hate them.

 

Your 28 and haven't got a proper bank account? Also if your cheque got declined once what makes you think it wont get declined when your dad tries to cash it in.

 

Ditto. And why does a 28 year old guy not have a credit card of his own, or at least proper banking details?

 

Usually when a retailer (Actually the check verification company they use) denies your check they provide you with a phone number to call to explain why..

I've had a check denied for $140 of grocieries.. when we had well over 3000 in the checking acount (and no activity on the accunt for 3 days).. ended up being the cashiers error.. as the check verification company didn't even see that they tried to make a transaction to the account..

Crazy stuff..

I had a passport when I opened my checking and whatever was on that is probably still tied to the account as my main ID.

I dont have a Credit Card becuase frankly, I haven't really needed one, I DO NEED a Debit card though.

my checking account is with a horrible credid union joint account with my mother for tax reasons as I get closer to getting an actual job I need to get a seperate account for my self.

How do you get to 28 without a "actual job"? I got a proper (well almost an electron so not too many online transactions at the time) debit card when i turned 16 and then a full visa card and credit card when i was 18. I dont buy anything expensive without a credit card for protection.

It gets even more complicated.

1 word though, Disability for a Disability I don't even have. only NOW is it becoming clear what was really wrong with me all this time.

Bascially I'm sick of being on Disability, I'm sick of the Reason I'm ON IT so I decided to go back to school and become a Psychologist and get what I'm flasly diagnosed with unclassified.

 

I am not a religious man, but I think I might start praying.

Luckily the process is designed to weed out people who shouldn't be doing it. Maybe my prayers won't be needed.

surely you don't imply that the future is so certain as to predict it based on speculation and wishful thinking.

 

I'm GOING TO BE A PSYCHOLOGIST and they MAKE alot of money

so yes...

 

Only good ones though. No way to tell if you are or not at the moment as you're a student. A psychologist today is very different than what you see on TV nowadays, far from it. Good luck to you, though.
