It could be very old cause PSX that is inside is I assume SCPH-1xxx (POWER/OPEN text instead of symbols).
That would be great if you could. I have created a set on flickr rather then clogging this thread: https://www.flickr.com/photos/42573408@N07/sets/72157643950272283/ Here are two more images: Back of the console This maybe a serial number of some sort
about the company that made it i could give them a call if you want to its about a 20 min drive from where i live so that would not be a problem i would love to know the story behind this case what is was used for and if they ever produced more then just one? let me know p.s. the company still exists but its small and has no real website of there own
i have tried the number its not i use anymore. but i found a other company that about 15 min out from the location in Almere but they make port holes for ships now but are also called pasman bootramen techniek (pasman port hole techniks). anyway i sent them a email hoping they are the same company because of the name and location and the fact the suitcase would be made atleast 15+ years ago so alot can happen in 15 year right? one more thing is it possible to make sharper picture of the top insert of the suitcase because i could make out its nearly all writen in dutch maybe i can translate things and maybe it stats what its for?
Thanks for trying to call. As you said a lot can change in 15 years! I have took pictures of each section of text. I havent uploaded them here as I didnt want to clog up the thread. https://www.flickr.com/photos/42573408@N07/sets/72157643950272283/
i got the info and maybe more to come! i got a call back from the old owner E. Pasman himself and he told me he made those cases in his small company like 15+ years back and it was not for sony them selfs but for a distributor of sony entertainment. Right here in the place where i live so he is gonna check if he can find the name of the company so i can just walk by maybe? next he told me he only got to make 200 pieces of the suitcase and not 1 more then that they had as purpose to be hired from certain video rental stores and such. thats why not everything is accessible in the case so you would walk in a video rental store pay a deposit and a rental price an you just get this case to take home for a few days. he also told me this was only made in the time when the playstation still was very expensive and the distributor stopt ordering them when the big playstation price drop came. so it was basically a protective case so the expensive ps would be save in hunderds of different hands from small to big he is going to look into the archive of his old company if he can find any pictures of the development process and maybe some samples and such ! i will let you know when i know more p.s. i see the pictures and all it says is how to use the device step by step i think thats because of the stupid ppl that will rent this device and will try to do things with it thats it could not do?
WOW! Amazing that you got the information so quickly. 1 out 200 made! Its a very special item indeed, and its condition is perfect for saying it was a rental unit. Would be cool if he had pictures and more information about it. Thanks so much for solving the mystery.
That is crazy you happened to live so close to where it was made. What an awesome coincidence. It is pretty great getting to hear about the origin of this thing.
Hey guys. Someone linked sent this to me. There is one up for sale on Marketplaats! http://m.marktplaats.nl/a/spelcompu...-limited-edition-koffer-collectives-item.html
I paid 50 euros/piece, so i got very lucky. Also all that promo and press stuff you see on the photo I got for free with the rental units!
