well this board isnt hosted at roarvgm anymore is it? I dont know what the current policy on such discussions is, though. I'll ask Assembler about it.
The board was never hosted by Daemon/RoarVGM... it used to be hosted by EZBoard. However since the Assembler site is hosted by RoarVGM and it's part of Daemon's hosting contract that links to warez should not be allowed I would say that disussion shouldn't be allowed, unfortunately. Nothing's changed
:snipe: Discussion of warez/roms/isos is allowed, but linking directly to such material is forbidden :smt027
Ok, so we are allowed to talk about Prop Arena then?? As far as i know, Belokk has the GDR. It's been ripped but is not booting on a DC. Seems to be some sort of copy protection on the GDR that needs cracking. And tht's it. Until its cracked, no PA. Oh well, give it time....
You can talk all you want about it. ALLUSION to sale will be erased. All other material, screens, vids, etc are great. You MUST follow the rules below. :snipe: So: 1.) You can talk all you want about Propeller Arena, and post as many videos and screen shots as you like. :smt023 MP3s are not allowed. :smt009 2.) You cannot in any way shape or form sell PA. :smt027 The only sale discussion allowed must be in DEBATE form and must be NOTED as such! This means philosophical discussion only. "Joe sells PA and it's great" = NONO :smt009 "Debating if it's wrong for someone to sell PA" =OK :smt023 3.) You cannot in any way direct link to a FREE distro copy of PA. This means less than three clicks to file. :smt009 You can mention: IRC channels and non warez web sites. (see below) :smt023 4.) The two click rule must be in effect. You must have to click more that two times before any link reaches any prohibited material. :smt024 This way any linked materials are the sole responsibility of the other page. No mention of the content can be made! "Click here to get to PA" = NO :smt027 "Go to this page, they have some VERY interesting info" = YES :smt023 5.) Discussions on encryptions belong in the dev area. "Cracking WAREZ"=NO! :smt009 :smt009 :smt009 "Decompiling a program"=Yes :smt023 :smt023
OK guys, Assembler has set out the rules so let's follow them and have us a great time :smt027 Yakumo
you can go to http://www.d-central.com (in the forum section) don't worry there is no link to the game lol but belokk talk about advancements for propeller arena ! :smt040
Propeller Arena (again) As mentioned before on my old post (when the PA problem started) *Talking* about PA is fine. Videos, screenshots, documenting the game is fine. BUT Selling, distributing, linking to (no matter if it's 1 or 300 links away - if it ends up giving one access to illegal material, it's a no-no). Because like... let's suppose someone made a TRIPOD page that said "CLICK HERE FOR L33T INFO". This page then linked to a geocities page that said "CONTINUE CLICKING! L33T INFO IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!" that then linked to another page with illegal content. That would still be no good, don't you guys agree? I know some people will talk crap about me, but trust me, I'm just trying to avoid trouble in the future. Noone here would want my site, or ASSEMbler's site to die because of a game! Here's a WORKAROUND though; If discussing / trading files / etc was done ELSEWHERE with no proper control (such as IRC), then it'd be fine. I'll even go a little further. If ASSEMbler agrees, I'll get bots and set up #assemblergames on EFNET for you guys. You can use the channel freely for talking about obscure consoles, games, computers, prototypes, sharing files with other friends in the community, etc etc. Opinions? - Daemon
You can go from my site to google , and then download any malware you want. Having it 3 or more clicks away is the only real way to distance yourself. Face it, we're less than three clicks away from ANYTHING. I mean, not having any links is really hard to screen.
How far is belokk?Don't feel the need to register there, but I heard there were some problems regarding to protection.
Registered he dint say last post ( i dint check when it was tho! doh!) he said the games ripped and all he has to do is make it boot and he was gonna have a crack at it that night... :smt027
assembler told people not to say: "Click here to get PA." DOes this mean we can find PA somewhere? Does this mean PA is ripped by someone other than the people here? Maybe the internet is small and our only hope is the people here ripping it.
u winder if the inet mode is working i herd it uses a new method of direct connecting to the other dcs ... this only work if you hav e a bba i suppose but if this is true its wicked
If you just took some time and actually read the topic. Then you would have discovered that 'belokk' is working hard on it... (some problems with booting it) @Keva, it would be interesting if the game could be linked (LAN).. de online functions are all there! LAN/Custom IP etc. So maybe will see in the future an homebrew server!
Thanks for the offer, there already is an IRC channel though (#assemblerirc on Undernet) which is actually quite busy nowadays It's been around for months but most of the time there were like 3 people
I don't want be annoying or sound impatient, I'm not terribly even interested in this but this is dragging on too long, it feels like a tease. Whats exactly taking so long? I'm just pointing this out, don't take offense anyone. With a BBA ripping ANY DC game (GD-Rs are no different) is a 1-2 day job, at least for me and I'm no scener. This includes downsampling audio/video and selfbooting etc. With a "coders cable" I wouldn't expect more than a week or two because of the excruciating speeds, depending on the integrity of the ripped data. Wish I had something to rip for the group
May I have an example of what exactly needs to be "cracked"? LBA stuffs? I've ripped a few (early) games without any trouble and I've never encountered or heard of protection, what are you talking about?
