This is stupid. It's a portable system. There's no way to shove a UMD into your pocket like you did with every other portable without one day pulling it out and wondering how the f**k you're going to get that penny out of there. If the PSP was a home-use console it might be forgivable, but for a portable? No way. As for piracy prevention.... Huh? Are you suggesting the boys in China can't make things out of plastic? Are you suggesting best-selling = quality? I think it indicates a balance between quality and price. My three year old Toshiba cellular phone has a far, far better screen than my six month old Sharp.
I'm guessing Nintendomad's opinion and observations were based on playing a PSP...not. Sharp makes pretty good products; their LCD screens are nice. Truth be told, they aren't five star quality, but they are very affordable (relatively speaking) and pretty good. I'd say they are the type of 3.5-4 star product that "just misses" being an editor's choice.
Yep, Sharp make the BEST Ekishou screens out there!! There's no questioning that. By the way GaijinPunch, how do you say Ekishou in English? Is it something like organic ? Yakumo
:-D UMD made of cheap plastic... and biodegradable... I will be holding out for a year or two before SONY sorts out the bug with PSP... and hopefully lower price... I waited two years before jumped on GBA and almost three years for PS2... :smt043
Few questions: How much machine noise does the psp make when the disc is spinning? (or does it just load everything into memory and shut down after one long load) 2nd How much Head can come off the Machine if it is plugged into the wall? (i could imagine alot of head coming off the cpu's if it was played for more than a few hours with constant powersupply.) Other than those questions i am waiting to get one and playin it in lines and board room meetings... I will just say it is a pda.
