I would normally say in a Mortal Kombat style voice "Ironic Justice!" for a pirate company to have their own product pirated by others, but in this case they actually made an original product from scratch. So I guess it's really more of an unlicensed company feeling the pain a normal developer would feel. I guess it would be "Flawless Software... Pirated!"

 

Hey Yakumo, I'd love a copy of your cover if possible. I have the "Art from God knows where" version of the cart, and no box.

I don't know if I'd quite go that far. Hardly any of the sprites and artwork is original, a big portion of it is just edited (or retraced) sprites and other assets from other games. Many of the magical effects are lifted straight out of other games (Forgotten Worlds, Golden Axe). The player characters are virtually identical to Knights of the Round, and many of the enemies are taken from other games and slightly altered.

 

Even the enemy paterns are lifted straight out of Streets of rage as are at least 4 of the enemy characters :nod: basically, China can't make anything original.

But you have to think that they make all these games reverse enginering other stuff. I bet they could do wonders with some dev kits

 

Not really. The just stole game engines and re-drawn sprites. No different than community hackers to be honest.
