penny-arcade expo is a very large video game convention. I got along with almost everyone there. The only person i didn't get along with I almost got in a brawl with in the mosh pit waiting for the Minibosses to perform.

if you guys want a video game convention, PAX is DEFINATLY the one to go to.

I don't think I could do it, but it sounds fun at first. I don't like big crowds and the elitist people. I don't even get to do LAN partys anymore because all they play now is Halo 2 and crap. I do wanna at least try to do one of the classic conventions some time, but I don't think I could put up with what Blur said.

You should work in a video-game store. You meet all of the above types of people and worse on a daily basis!

Even though I don`t work in a Video Games Store and my m8 has now retired to be a home husband

There is a guy that goes around all my local stores "Maurice" not all there and always gets alll the stores to get out stuff etc, is a damn pain, but them spends quite a lot of some kind of benefits

Would be good, London is for me

There was on in Croydon a year or so ago, for the life oe me can`t remember what/when it was but was all retro stuff

Typically I was out of the country

    Found something on it

You forget that we DID do it in the UK.

A pic I took of Gleavepaul, LeGit, Tachikoma and Paulo.

The event in Croydon was CGEUK. It is dead now.

Sure, some members will value their privacy too much to want people in their homes, or to show off their stuff. Fair enough... don't forget the sensitive nature of our ownership of some items. However, I see nothing wrong with a little eget-together for a chat, to go to a public event (e.g. LAN, exhibition, arcad), or maybe even for a bit of a gaming sesh. However, I think some of you may be thinking a little on the big side for an underground forum!

I may well in future be holding an interesting event. It would be more on the large side, but there's nothing to stop us from having VIP ASSEMbler badges and our own quiet private bar to chat into the early hours or something ;-)

How about we get all the US forumer's to get together in one area, go out to dinner at a restrautant with wifi and stream it over to those in the UK doing the exact same thing. then we all go see the same movie and MST the whole thing, while the UKers do the same thing with the same movie in the UK.

    meet, greet, have fun.

See, I knew this would be an interesting topic...

Keep in mind folks, I did use the word "Theoretical" in the title...I don't really expect it to happen...

...er...unless a significant amount of people want to travel to some VERY far off place for a video game conventiony thing...

You don't see the comparison between the idea of a circlejerk, where a bunch of guys get together to get "excited" over something sexual...and a video game convention, where a bunch of guys get together and get exicted over some rare video game hardware?

I said "Rare Video Games Circlejerk" not "Rare Video Games, Circlejerk."

We could call it Assembler Assemble...

but that just reminds me of Voltron.
