"don't know that game, what's it like" "what's it play like?"

What the heck is up with this? I've been seeing it more often recently and it's so damn annoying. How many people out there actually need to ask what something is instead of doing a search yourself in a few seconds? I can't explain how common occurrence this is, especially when you're selling something. All you people who do this, you have a freaking internet connection that you're spending your cash on, use it for gods sake! :dammit:

Is there seriously someone with an entire internet at their fingertips sitting there and then twiddling their thumbs while they wait for some to act like an encyclopedia to them on what a common game is? Just saw someone do this for Ecco the Dolphin. I mean COME ON, what are you, are you THAT lazy?

Wow... now that IS racist man, seriously.

Well they're virtually unknown here, at least in California. The group I run with uses "Gypsy" as a sort of a synonym for "cheap," or "Crappy," as in "Look at that fucked up Gypsy mobile" or "Stupid ass gypsy computer keeps crashing" or something.

But I mean actual, traveling Gypsies, that is the Roma people, there aren't any of them around here. Actually I thought that was a myth, I'm surprised to learn there are still such things as whole "tribes" of "wandering peoples."

They don't wander that much anymore. Just park their fucking caravans and slowly wreck where they live.

There's a thin line between asking how a game plays and asking someone's opinion on it, and you must surely appreciate that the latter is basically the whole point of a gaming forum.

They're not Roma around here - usually Irish and do walk around like they own the place then leave a proper shithole of a mess behind them. See Snatch for details

Hey now, Snatch is a good movie, as is Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.

So last night there was a family get-together at my place (commemorating, of all things, that my father passed away one year ago today), and yeah, they did open my uncle's car and take the stereo and they left all the wires hanging out of the door. RIGHT AT THE FRONT DOOR OF MY HOUSE.

So I guess we somehow summoned the gypsy neighbours, or at least a coincidence similar to what they did in my block years ago.

    God damn it.

Re-read :p I wasn't knocking Snatch, in fact I love it - at one point I watched it weekly. It just serves as an example to show Hawanja and others of the non-Roma pikey lifestyle. We don't call them pikey here though, just gyppos.

Doubt they knew but if gypsies are going to steal something they aren't going to let timing stop them.

Here they seem to think the world owes them a living and so show up with caravans and horses. A few years ago they showed up at an ex-Ford dealership that had been closed for a few years. By the time they left (few months) the building that stood there was wrecked. Windows had been bricked so the kids could go inside, the walls had been smashed and the wiring yanked out before they were forced to move on. That land then ended up having to be demolished. Re tarmacced and a building company rebuilt on it.

Most of them aren't decended from the Gypsies who suffered during the third reich or anything. Just fucking arseholes who want everything on a plate, most don't even have gypsy heritage, just follow what they are stereotyped to do.. In contrast gypsies who are decendants from people around the third reich are some of the most hard working people you will ever meet and I don't mean nick car radios at twice the rate of normal gypsies or scrapping or anything. They work hard at real jobs.

Well, my example is about people who have zero idea on what a nearly 20 year old game is and instead of taking the time to look it up themselves, stall more time by asking you what it is. I mean, the Ecco guy even said he had no idea what the game was and asked if you control a dolphin with a PC or something nonsensical like that. It doesn't hurt to ask some questions, but to basically be like "don't know it, tell me all about what it is and what kind of game it is" isn't the type of topic you'd typically find on a forum unless it's really obscure that not many people would know about to begin with. It'd kinda be like if you were selling Megaman X3 and someone asked "hmm don't know that game, you play as a super man or something? lol" That's the kind of "I'm too dumb to even bother figuring it out myself" stuff I'm talking about here, not someone simply asking for opinions :)

It gets annoying when you're trying to make a sale, it's happened with a lot of pirate games I've sold too and while it might appear petty in a way, it just pisses me off when people want to stall time by asking something they coulda done a simple search for. After all, what is the internet for? All I'm saying is, If someone were selling something I'm not familiar with, I wouldn't post saying "I don't know that game, what is it?", I'd search the net first to see what it is, THEN if I'm interested in the game, I'd inquire more specific questions rather than something so broad that makes you look like you seriously need to wait for someone to respond back with information that's right at your fingertips.

Little peeves like this just..peeve me :p

I just found out, that British Marmite is illegal in Denmark, and the readers of The Guardian are going apeshit about it, well there is a Danish law that prohibits vitamins in some edible stuff. But seriously the best way of combating a prohibition is by just making Marmite without vitamins instead of boycotting Denmark, and Danish bacon.

If it's this you're referring to, then you need to re-engage your humour detector. It's firmly tongue in cheek.

Fuck the marmite thing, I'm still quite shocked at Scandinavia. They used to be cool and have less censorship and be less "holier-than-thou".

And now they've gone and banned DOA 3D because it's "Child Porn"?

Now that is stupid. Go protect real children. Virtual young adults are fine, thank you.

Hey man, that is NOT true. You are thinking of Sweden, the cousin country in Scandinavia, since you should know. That Denmark are not like its cousin.
Denmark has not illegalised ANY kind of manga. You should know that by now my friend, that Scandinavia is not one big country. Denmark, Norway, Sweden are three countries that makes up Scandinavia.

Damn, I had a feeling Sweden again was the culprit.
Thanks Sweden, for being a bunch of fucking wankers. And here I am of course talking about the government.
But oh well, it looks like the Danes, and Norwegians can always import the fucking game.

I'm such a tard. I just bought a nice new Z68 motherboard but with my recent spending I have no money for an 1155 CPU, 580 GPU, nor RAM or SSD for the Smart Response Tech. It will take me a couple of pay days to complete it unless I flog my recent purchases doh.

My laptop is 4 years old, many of the keys are busted and the 8600 M GT is nice for a laptop but really I need something with a little more grunt.

I was originally going to start out with an 1156 machine to save money, but I figure if I go for a cheap 1155 set up I will only really need to change the CPU, slot in an SSD for cache mode and add an extra GPU for SLI in future to give it a new lease of life in 3 years time (will buy it an extra 2 years of life IMO for less than the cost of a whole new system) but now my plan has changed again, to a bottom of the top of the range system lmao!

I won't go too extreme though, I can't afford it.

WolverineDK thta video link is from BBC NEws 24 - the only reason it is there is because no one gives a shit for it to feature in the main news and they have to pad the day out with something.

I can't find my Lian Li PC 60, I guess I sold it, but I did just dig out my Lian Li PC 7 Plus from it's 2.5 year retirement, gave it a good clean and now it is ready for the Z68 arrival...I just need money to populate the rest of the components now doh!
