For crying out loud, this is beginning to look like one big killing joke to me. Fucking stupid, if any one wants a Danish beer. Then drink one and get another Danish beer. And what I mean by fuckers are the fanatics. Not the innocent.

And you sir, do not understand the US health system. It's easy to look at the US and shake your fist and blame Bush. However, Bush did not create the situation here, and nor can he fix it. The democrats are making big promises, but no democrat has changed the system in the past, Bill Clinton didn't.

There is too much money in the healthcare system in the US for it to become a socialized concern. The taxes would have to be insane to cover the charges that doctors, hospitals etc charge people and medication costs a fortune too. Hospitals are privately owned and far in advance of the kind of hospitals you see in Europe. Most of medical research is paid for by the US people and insurance companies. Ultimately that is why you have the drugs you have. I don't think it is right that they charge so much here, but it is a big business in a capitalist system. What do you propose? That the government forces prices down? How will that happen? You and I both know that is unrealistic. So how will they cover the charges? No president will vote in massive taxes to support it because ultimately they want to remain president and their political party will want to remain in power.

In the end it will turn into a shitty private insurance option for the employed whose employers don't provide coverage and there will be a high deductible that will prevent most from seeking medical treatment unless they are at death's door.

That is why there is a big compromise in places that have a socialized system. How do you pay for it? The NHS (UK health system) is FUBAR because it relies on people paying taxes to support it. Who wants to wait 12+ months for a hip replacement? In the US, you pay well over the odds for health provision, but you get the best quality and it is immediate. And the people that really can't afford health insurance receive it any way. It's not like someone will die because they can't afford it. The hospitals, doctors etc cannot turn someone away from treatment because they can't pay.

So I know what a shitty hospital system I have here. But yours is worse.

Well, I saw the list last year. I just can´t remember where, but UK was better than DK and USA. And do you know what sucks ? well, I am screwed as ussual, I am not getting a gastric banding. And their excuse, was that they didn´t think my mental self could handle it. And that was because I was honest, or else they could have looked it up, thanks to my social security number. But it is bullshit, if I wanted to kill myself, I would have done it years ago. So I am back where I started . Screwed , diabetic, and fucking obese. Which just plainly sucks. And that is all because of my past in the system.

 

Be nice if I had insurance....I'm pretty sick the last two weeks and I need contacts. Dentist would be nice too.
