    I've got a better one

"Water can crash or it can flow, be water my friend"- Bruce Lee

And yes, I would love to dance my troubles away (that would be a solution for one of my problems, although it would make me look somewhat whorish...)

K-Panggg: if you want a deterrent against bad people, then I am the guy you are looking for. Cause even though I am the joker in a deck of cards. Then my friends always know where they have me. But I refuse to call you, highness, queen, or mistress. Cause I am not above, or below a person: I am usually my friends equal. Even though it is NOT on all of the same things. We are equal.

My mom cheats on my dad.
    My dad is crushed.
She cheats with a long time family friend, one of my dad's best friends. Which just makes it that much worse.
At the time of the affair his son and I were room mates. Like I said, family friends.
    My mom asks for forgiveness.
We grant forgiveness and try to work things out.
    Instead she moves out.
Not only does she move out, she has the guy she cheated with help her.
She moved into an apartment literally 3 minutes down the road from the guy.
She has filed for a legal separation even though the rest of us pleaded with her not to.
Now lawyers are involved which is never a good thing.
She's dragging us through this whole thing even though she's the one that cheated and moved out.
    It makes no sense.
Every day it gets worse and worse.

    Ugh... my life...

    Gosh, it's awful!
I hope you guys are dealing with this stuff in the best way possible. Believe me, I had to endure the sickness and eventual death of my father. And I tell you, there is nothing more important than health...

It may seem like a weak consolation prize now, but in time you will understand that the ways to happiness for some people are different than for others. And in achieving that happiness, people usually become selfish and end up hurting others, mainly the people they love the most.

My advice to you now is this: Nobody is perfect, and there is no such thing as the perfect family. Just be grateful that all of you are healthy, keep no spite for anyone and ALWAYS speak your mind. It's not good to bottle things up inside you...

And remember, it's always a great relief to talk to a virtual stranger... If you ever need to talk I'm at your disposal.

That sucks Jon, but you have to soldier on... it might seem it's the worst that can happen but believe me it ain't. You'll get through, and you'll see maybe you will be all better off like this (living separated) than trying to make it work when it certainly won't.
Your dad must be destroyed and you and your brother should try to be there for him, but don't turn your back on your mom either as it will make her feel worse. Try to talk to her to see why she ended up doing all that.
As K-Panggg says, there is no such thing as a perfect family.
If you need to rant or anything buddy, you know where to find me. Too bad I'm still XBOX-less, if not you could channel all your feelings through beating the crap outta me at Halo 3 or something :banghead:

Yeap, Tchoin is right. Believe us, we've been through some SHITTY family stuff too. But there's always the "comfort" that whatever happens now, it can always get worse. So for now, my advice is to just try to relax, try not to get TOO personal with it either.
What I mean is that if your mother made that decision, it's not yours or your brother's fault. It has something to do with her relationship to your father. What you guys need to do is be supportive of your father, and talk to your mom so you can at least try to understand why is she doing all this.

And as Tchoin said, if you need to vent, you know where to find me.

    God's a myth!!!

And just when you think the shithole you're in can't get any deeper or worse, IT DOES...

So, just try enjoying what you have when you have it, because nobody knows when it will be snatched away from you

Carrying over the debate from the thread on this article:

    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20091102/tuk-uk-britain-drugs-fa6b408.html

thats a bit of a travesty that. this made me laugh: "his role is to advise rather than criticise government policy on drugs" - so advising doesn't incorporate criticism? He should have simply been a yes man?

    Barcode, when you said:
"I think cocaine should sit next to other stimulants on the shelf, like coffee.

Its classification as a narcotic is political, not scientific."

I hope you are joking! I know how addictive cocaine is first hand and on other people I know, it really does ruin lives (talking about both the cost and physical/mental effects, though mainly the former combined with the addictiveness). Perhaps if it was legally available in traditional coca leaf form, using the same process to get the effect (ie chewing that takes a while, a time consuming process to limit the amount that can be taken) but i still think it would be open to abuse and illegal purification would occur, because of the precedents already set.

I'm not sure about cannabis, LSD and Ecstacy - in controlled settings like the home there would be little risk, but in public areas it could be very risky - particularly LSD due to the massive effect on sensory perception. LSD use is quite risky for novice users too due to the length of effect, time it takes to kick in etc.

I do think if governments hadn't gone mad on banning drugs in the first place legalisation wouldn't have anyway near as many problems as there would be if it happened today. Especially Cannabis.

Parents are humans, too. They'll eventually probably fuck up on something at some point, statistics dictate. Not giving a fuck is your best bet really.

I often say that what my parents do is not my business and its best kept that way. In my eyes, they're both ideal in their own way, but vis-a-vis themselves they're just another couple, not unlike the ones you see around you.

Some will argue for the values of 'family' but keeping something together artificially is just made believe. Its better to accept facts and go on with life with your interests in mind.

I hate people. I love animals, animals are cool. I also love my girlfriend and friends and some of my family... But I usually hate people. People can be cool but they can also stab you in the back. Animals are really cool I mean they just do their own thing and cats and dogs love humans and are mans best friend. I also like tinkering, thats my favorite thing to do is to tinker and feel important while doing it, I also like to know as much as possible if at all possible and I hate to be wrong but I can admit when I am wrong but do so shamefully. Thats me in a nutshell, wanna fight about it?
