    OK so let's summarize......

    • The controller is wireless
    • The controller looks like a remote control
    • The controller has a D-pad
    • The controller has 2 sets of A and B buttons

    *ahem*

Yeah, the Nintendo "revolution". Think they'll have to change the name!!

Maybe they should change their name too... I'm thinking ......

you missed out its ability to determine your possition within a three dimensional space as well as determine the whether the controller is tilted in either a horizontal or vertical manner. ¬_¬

    Yes, but BESIDES that..... hehe.

It is interesting, though. Are Nintendo saying that ONLY new kinds of game can be made on this system? There's a D-Pad and A and B buttons just in case, but that makes it a NES. What about Street Fighter? How are you supposed to play that by waving a stick around?

you dont, you "get" (no-one knows if it comes with the console or if you have to buy it, cos nintendo havent said) the "standard controller shell" , the remote/wand/nintendildo/whatever slots into it, and becomes a standard controller, the wand acting as the wireless transmitter for said controller, and also giving said controller the ability to determine your place within a three dimensional space :). IGN made a mockup

looks a little odd I grant you, but the theory is sound.. people speculate however that it is more likely for the controller to slot in sideways so as the remote will

    a) not to stick out too far, and
    b) as its buttons would therefore be in a more logical place within the shell.

Until Nintendo release more info on it however, we wont really know. They are no doubt waiting to full explain this particular function, as they wish for the possibilities presented by the wand to fully sink in. :)

i like the squeeze idea, imagine taking an ostage online like that.

but the overall controller is just too ''inside the box'', you know? the concept is the same thing that you where able to see in the past 10 years...just with things added. The real controller is a whole new thing.

Square-Enix still does stuff for the GBA, I think. Not too sure of the DS, since I dont have one.

But that controls the DVD part of the PS2. Can you actually play games with it? Oh, and if that's the case what about the CD-i remote...

It seems to me like you are getting rather defensive over a simple joke?

So yes, you can play games with it.

Oh and about the CD-I...I read somewhere that it was a joint project by Phillips and Sony. Is that true? I got it from Wikipedia.com
