    I agree - the console is sexy looking, especially the @WORLD model

    Completely disagree. It believe it's one of the most generic looking consoles ever created. It's literally just a box with slanted legs and a disc drawer that slides out. Even the controller is a mess. What exactly do you find sexy about it? Heck, the Panasonic 3do FZ-1 is basically the same design, but at least they took some time to smooth it out a little.

    I actually thought the controller was the best thing about the system. Very comfortable in the hand, and the trackball came in handy for menus and FMV games.

    Actually my specialty is the fifth generation. That's why I want a Pippin. Its the only fifth gen console I don't own

    Don't restrict yourself so much. There are lots of crappy consoles in all of the generations!! :icon_bigg

    But I will say that the Pippin is a special beast. I'm with Marriott_Guy in liking the way it looks. It's not sleek, but it's also not monolithic. It is a bear to collect for though. Took me quite a while to find a boxed US model and I'm still trying to put my hands on some games for it. Still, it's a cool console to own!

    I have both Pippin @mark and @world models, I have a dump of the @mark BIOS is anybody is seriously interested in emulating it (also the eprom from the CD-drive).

    As was mentioned, finding Pippin games is the hard... I have quite a few and have dumped/archived them for the MESS project, same with a bunch of Playdia "games" and recently released 6 Casio Loopy cart dumps to No-Intro.

    If anybody here has a Pippin and is thinking about opening up the case to either just nosey around or dump the BIOs from the rom board, there is a hidden screw in the drive tray, so make sure you power it on first, open the tray, unscrew and then open the rest. Both my Pippins have snapped drive-trays because I forgot about this tiny screw ;_;

    lol..and what would ya gonna do with that?

    i'm always amazed about the big amount of pico systems and games i can see at recycle stores like hard off. may be i will buy one for my lil' when he grew up bit more. lol. but i think, he rather starts with REAL consoles directly, than gateways them via pico crap and such.
