the ps3's popularity is low. case a) my cousin, an avid Ps2-fanatic, got a 360 and believes the Ps3 is shite. (cant blame the kid for lack of loyalty to a brand, he's only 14) case b) I saw a ps3 on ebay yesterday go for 625USD with a game, and there was only a last minute bid. only ONE bid, and that's it. I could have easily bought it provided I cared, or was willing to spend that much money.
i don't know this is sony. look at their history VHS/Betamax wars who won not Sony PSX - complete bomb could be a third time bust?? It would not surprise me.
Well, I was mainly talking about the SCEI... I mean, you can't really blame them for Betamax Now, I realize the PSX was a bomb, and what I was saying was I'm hoping Sony have learned their lesson from it. Maybe not, who knows. Like I said, we'll have to wait and see.
It depends on the model (5000 series or 7000 series - with different hard drives). On Yahoo Japan, they generally go for about US$350. I haven't seen many on eBay though.
could someone post a picture of what "PSX" you guys are talking about? I've never seen a PS1 with a hard drive. I've also never heard of the PS1 "bombing" or being anything other than a success in its gaming era.
krieg747: the retail machine that has the name 'PSX' should not be confused with the development codename of the PS1. the released PSX is a PS2 fused with a hard drive and recording capabilities. It has been criticized for being 'slow', expensive, and a dumb fusion all together. It's very pretty in my opinion, nevertheless. The XMB interface also started its life on the PSX.
