    *sigh*

Unfortunately, the 360, JTAGing and PartnerNet are all seedy hotbeds filled with people leaking content they shouldn't, every Tom,Dick and Harry with cracked or dev boxes and d*cks that think they're l33t. Due to the nature of this forum, it's always going to pull in the worst of it all.

I think that, sadly, there's very little that can be done to cure this (it is, after all, where most of the problems like the Splatterhouse fiasco, the 17-page flame-fest after vigilantes killed someone's kit, and endless dumbassery.

Whilst I was pretty miffed last time you considered shutting that forum down, I reluctantly agree with your decision: the Xbox section is just too hot to handle. Maybe one day we can figure a way to keep this open (such as being invite-only, 1 strike and you're out sort-of-thing), but something needs to be done before this blows a gaping hole in all of this.

What makes you think I was trying to help? This part of the forum is full of bickering children trolling each other, creating drama and spouting off about their illegally acquired hardware and software. Warning after warning, locked thread after locked thread, the message never got through. It's no surprise at all it's being shut down.

Fair enough....I've seen the drama for myself but closing the 360 section won't help it will just spread it over multiple sections.... The only true way to solve it is either make the whole assembler forum invite only and delete the trouble makers or close the whole thing down, which would be a disaster.

I vote for the closed membership to the forum idea. Information wants to be free and if you treat it like a private club people can become aware of it and potentially aspire to be asshole free enough in mentality to gain access. If they continue to be assholes in other forums and other venues then it won't be too hard to identify them as a permanent trouble maker.

I rarely post in the 360 forums but I do enjoy the sheer amount of information that comes out of it.

The problem with checking to see if they are a-holes everywhere else is that from what I've seen, the accused are perfectly nice until it comes to xbox areas. Elitist attitudes combined with the ever prevalent narcissism creates for not so fun times.

Well.. to be honest there's no such thing as a mess that can't be cleaned up, so no offense to you or mods man, but I guarantee you guys could do stuff to clean it up better.

However if you feel it's not worth the time or effort, then oh well.

Either way, your guys' choice, and I don't really care, just thought I should pitch my opinion.. Whether anyone cares or not.

    ;P

I don't even own a 360, but it is an interesting read.

Its sad to see it go but it just caused too much trouble. I genuinely think a system without a warning is ok. Fuck around once and your banned from the xbox area. This area has produced alot of good stuff and for a few people to fuck up what can now and in the future help people would be wrong.

I don't even own any 360 hardware but i will still put my $.02 in because this is the only site that i actually read any 360 news/info on... and yea can't say I'm impressed with the maturity of many of these guys.

This seems to be the only part of the entire forums that have threads with 80+% of posts edited, on top of that it would appear to be a group of friends maybe just 5-7 young guys that are causing the issues and posing random shit to other parts of the forums as well.

I can't agree with a previous post in this thread that the ones causing the most problems are the ones providing the most information though.

If my opinion is worth anything I would say the best solution would to just ban anyone acting immature (in the 360 forum) without warning/notice. To me it's obvious they have been give way too much slack with their bullshit/flaming/ and yea a bit too much narcissism in some members posts.

You should ban the people who have no idea what they are talking about at all, who post out their ass, leak shit, and make rediculous claims like booting alternative operating systems other than linux on their consoles... This would stop the flaming, the incorrect information that gets spread around, and the rediculous false claims.

I think we should remove rights to the section upon a mistake. Like, no deleted post and warning. Just loss of access to the subsection altogether.

I am asking pikkon and hl718 to nominate more people.

The real question is who is willing to be responsible as a mod and
    enforce our guidelines.

I have added a bunch more moderators. If you think you are moral enough by the site's standards to moderate, I will add you.

Remember this forum lives and dies by it's members.

You must act with respect, and demand it of others.

My final approach is this: Those who have moral compass, speak up and be added.
the crowd will manage the forum and if it fails it is only because of the users of this forum.
