It's probably a reproduction cartridge using the rom from one of the many pirate carts that houses SMB2.
I have a pirate cart with SMB2 myself.

Not legit, obviously. He sold 8 of them already, and also the label doesn't wrap around the upper edge of the cartridge.

    Oh shi-
    I'll report him. :)

He's selling counterfiet copies of Earthbound too.
I never knew there was an Earthbound on NES?
    Oh wait! It's just Mother.
    -------
    Response:
    Dear jackazlin,

Yeah its a homebrew cart, I just wanted to give people the chance to play it without spending huge $$$ on a fami disk system.

    thanks

    -----
    :|
My response was less than pretty. I won't post it here. ;)
    -----
    Dear jackazlin,

Wow, you really need to get a life, if you have nothing better to than go around getting peoples auctions pulled yours who's prathetic. Have you ever tried making one? The parts are expensive and it takes a few hours with a soldering iron.

    -----
    Response:
    Doesn't matter.
You should atleast have the decency to list that it's a homebrew cart instead of selling it as if it was genuine. You even went to the trouble of printing a label to make it look legit, AND INCLUDED THE NINTENDO SEAL OF APPROVAL.

Don't even get me started on your Mother auction, oh sorry - Earthbound.

I think it's bad when people sell repros without stating they're repros. But I don't mind those who put a bit of effort into the presentation of their repros.

If I bought (or made) a repro, I'd expect it to look like a pretty painting in my collection. Not like some doodle.

Well, if it were me, I'd make it a point to have every one of his dodgy auctions pulled and hopefully get his account knocked off with it. Not for being a dick and signing you up for porn sites, but for making & selling pirates of NES games for a HANDSOME profit.

Expensive parts my ass. He could be doing it for half that price and still be making a profit. Gimme a programmer and I could churn em out for a pittance by comparison.

Well, you could report him for spamming your address to his ISP. You'd need proof it was him, though - hopefully the signup e-mails have an IP address. Look that up (e.g. on swhois.net) and report it to his ISP with the logs. You may also have his ISP anyway from his e-mail address. However, you'll need those IP logs. You could ask the porn sites for them, lol!

As for reporting on eBay, why not report him to Nintendo and/or whoever the anti piracy association is in his country? Rather than report him straight away to eBay and having the listing removed, report him to Nintendo by e-mailing the auction details to auctionpiracy@noa.nintendo.com

I don't think FACT deal with software any more, but here's their link (for UK sales) http://www.fact-uk.org.uk/site/contact/com_form.htm

I think it is FAST now. http://www.fast.org.uk/reportpiracy.asp

Oh, and there's ELSPA in the UK, too http://www.elspa.com/?c=/report/piracy.jsp

I don't see why you went and tried to pick a fight. You should have never let him see your email address, and you should have either warned him or just quietly reported all his auctions. I imagine the place to start would be Nintendo's AU branch wouldn't it? I don't think making repros is a big deal, though he certainly is raking in the money for it. Esspecially when making repros isn't that difficult once you have all you need.

Also I think the label is on the top, you are just seeing a shadow.

I too don't see why you picked a fight. Let the ignorant buyer be that; an ignorant buyer.

Strike 1: Super Mario Brothers 2 was released for the Wii Virtual Console late last year along with Sin and Punishment.

Strike 2: Harassing random people is something your should go to your ISP about.

Strike 3: He's being an asshole

Strike 4: I wouldn't have gone after him like you did. Just report him to eBay and be done with it.

thats quite missleading to sombody who is new to the scene. well it's missleading full stop - at no point is there a mention of it being not real :fresh:

I don't mind buying reproductions, I have loads of SMS unreleased reproductions and the guy who made them also made me box covers and manuals to go with them and they were less than half what this guy is charging.

He's been reported on eBay for piracy and email spam, and I've contacted Nintendo. By viewing his youtube videos of the game in action, he sounds like a kid of maybe 16?

Like many of you said - Repro carts are fine, as long as it is stated in the auction and they are reasonably priced. $80 a pop, with atleast 14 cats in total sold is wrong. The parts will cost him very little, it only costs him time.

    14*80= $1120.
    The kid is getting rich.

  17. Hi, Guys i basically joined this forum to defend myself, First JackAz is obnoxious, the first messages through ebay were calling me a fucking asshole etc before i even had a chance to reply.. thats why in his early post he said he wouldn't list it here. Also to all the american and brits who say the parts are cheap remember i am in AUSTRALIA. I have looked on ebay.com and seen you can get doners buy now for only a few bucks and eprom pulls for cheap as chips. Here im looking atleast $15-$20 for a doner which explains my price.

But my main point is this (besides the fact that JackAz is a whinny little bitch and should get a life) If i ever said it was a repo in the description it would get pulled from ebay, But anyways ANYBODY who is about to pay $80 for a game would do a google search to alteast find out about it. And so far every who has bought one knew it was a repro. Ie the last guy who bought my earthbound asked me if i used the patched rom or not and look at my feedback ''GOOD FOR A REPO''

So JackAz in future if you see something you dont like dont send them the kind of crap you sent me, dont start up a thread asking a question you allready know the answer to for attention and just report it you taddle tale

You have NOTHING to defend yourself against. As there is no defense.

You're pirating games. Plain and simple.

There is nothing you can say, do, or tell us that will make us side with you.

Also there are enough people on eBay selling FAQS downloaded and printed directly off of GameFAQS and people are buying them left and right as well.

  19. There not pirated games if they were never released.

This is my final post on this gay forums anyway AtariAge and Digital press are way better People there actually know what there talking about

Umm yes they were released. Mother was released in japan, and SMB2 was released in Japan as well as in america on the Wii Virtual Console.

So do us all a favor and get your nuts bitten off by a Koala Bear.
