That's highly unlikely, as there's only one master on file for the game for north america, but that's the only explanation i can come up with. The only way to be sure is to check the inner barcode on both disks and compare them...
I will have to get someone to check a usa print. My Canadian print had a giant stamp on the back of the plastic seal saying "made in mexico" vs my quake 4 which had no stamp. Just wondering if to meet launch deadlines, ms has multiple plans pressing disc & RR6 came out of two different places. I would not have this theory if not for the fact everybody in the USA has had no problem using rr6 on a jpn 360. I do understand that USA & Canada are the same game. I am a comercial game developer (i've done gba, ds & ps1 games).
Odd, when i posted the page it still had it at the top of the list saying region free. So sorry about that. Yet it does not explain why someone *shifty eyes* on this board directly told me it was pressed region free as well as my friend in the states playing a usa rr6 fine on his jpn 360 (both sys came from the same import site, buygame2.com). --edit-- anyways, i got a friend who is buying my copy for $55 (so i loose $5 meh) and I am just gonna buy the jpn ver. just sucks i will have to wait 2 weeks for it. --edit2-- On monday i am going to look into my quake 4 bonus disc. I think the bonus disc is just bad (the drive sounds like its having a hard time reading the disc which is the oposite for rr6 & the oxm disc which start up spinning then halt).
Hope you get your RR6 soon Subbie, I cant play my 360 till Tuesday either, I am waiting for a new stepdown that can handle the power sucker here in the UK.
well i ordered a jpn copy. RR6 is confirmed to work on pal & usa units. just not japanese. Which is odd. Anyways I have a friend who bought my copy and I only lost $5 on it which is not that bad really (long past the 15 day limit so eb wont take it back). Oh small update on Ninja Gaiden burn (I am currious damn it). The 360 Does reject games that are burned onto a disc. YET, YET, the system still reconises it as an xbox game and boots into the BC mode, Which means there might be the posibility in the future of faking the system into booting burns in the future (for the sake of hacking the 360, not piracy). Just though some here might like to know that.
