Wow! A boxed Super Famicom?!?! How does this even get left behind?!?! :eek:h:

The best I have ever stumbled upon was at my local park. There was this tree that split in two near the base and it formed a nice place to sit. When I went to rest on it, ta-dah! Sonic 2 for the Sega Genesis! Damn was that long ago...

Where I live, there would have been a bum wrapped around it using it as a pillow.

I used to live in a flat that had a large communal bin kept in a little brick building.

I was hefting in my weekly black bag full of rubbish when I saw a boxed Dragon 32 poking out. :icon_bigg

How do you know that wasn't bought by someone who dropped it on the way? I probably would have handed it to the police.

I remember someone who bought a load of Neo Geo games and they were in a paper carrier bag, which he had a coffee and put the bag down and the floor must have been wet as when he left and got home, he noticed that the paper had torn to being wet and half the games were missing. It had a bitter sweet ending. He did get most of the games back apart from a rather expensive (at the time) Shin Gouketsuzi Ichizoku Toukon and the rest of the games KOF 98, Art of Fighting 3 and Viewpoint did have water damage.. :D

I did find a stamp collection once, which was minutes away from being compacted, this did have a number of stamps which were quite vaulable (a few Penny Blacks and a Penny Red).

As for consoles and games, found over the years (in or near rubbish or skips)....

Boxed Atari ST-F (one without modulator but had a Single sided(!) floppy disc drive).
Boxed Sony Playstation 2 (needed a clean inside and out as it seemed to be covered in beer... but worked a treat and this was in early 2001...)
Boxed Sinclair QL with 2 boxes of hardware and software... that was fun lugging home... carry, arrrgh arms, put down, repeat... took about 2 hours to walk about a mile...

I found a PSone in my neighbours garbage bin. Haven't tested it though as i didn't feel like diving farther into the bin for the power adapter.

Wow, you're very lucky. The closet i've ever been to that is finding a game store flyer lying on the street xD

    That's pretty sweet. I once found a Mega CD 2 in a skip/dumpster, worked like a charm.

I found a Pikachu themed Gameboy Color once, with Pokemon red left at my old Starbucks job. Keep it at the store for a few months and no one ever came back for it. Kinda feel bad for the kid who lost it though.

I would have brought it to koban or the lost and found. Just me. I lost a bag on the Yamanote once and was glad someone was nice enough to bring it to the lost and found.

one more time. it was just a kicked out item onto the hill of trash on the street road

actually the "away-thower" put it a little bit more inside the street, since the garbage hill was quite grown when i passed that street.

no need for making you a silly one of wasting time to bring such a thing to a koban 2.5km away ;)

Found a Sega CDX sitting atop a dumpster in an alley way once when a friend and I decided to skip class. System looked a bit scuffed up, although still works fine today 10 years later.

A friend of mine found a perfect copy F-Zero for the Super NES on the street once. But a complete Super Famicom? That's crazy luck.

I found an empty red Super Mario World box once. I saw the guy take the game out and just throw the box and manual into a patch of waste land by my house. I still have it as I put my PAL SNES bundle copy of SMW in it. This was about 15 years ago.
What else, I used to bring home all sorts of crap as a kid. Mostly broken VCRs, Hi-Fi equipment, and the odd TV. I eventually learned quite a bit from dismantling it all. I still have a very old Baird Teletext TV (with SCART), that was the easiest to fix - it just needed a plug!
