http://www.humblebundle.com/ This bundle is just ridiculously good, it'd be worth it just for Darksiders and Metro 2033, but getting Saints Row The Third for about $5 too...wow.
Looks like the folks at humble bundle sold out. Windows only. I don't care because I got a bunch of good games for a $1 but I bet some people do.
THQ are okay by me, I hope they survive this crisis. Now if a giant publisher like Activision sank nobody would miss them except CoD plebs.
THQ are the luckiest sons of bitch EVER! They were responsible for 90% of the shit that came out of America on the SNES. God only knows how they managed to get so big. I mean, EVERY and I mean EVERY SNES release with the THQ (Toy Headquarters) logo on it is total ass. If you want my opinion THQ should have vanished years ago along with other shitty US developers such as Absolute, Hi-Tec Expression, DTMC and many more.
THQ published some good games on the GBA. Though I think most of them were just published by, not developed by, THQ.
Too true but LJN were in fact Accliam. I guess LJN was their label for NES games. You are right, everything with LJN on was awful. In fact I think 90% of Accliam's games were awful too. Can't say I really cared when they went under. This is true. It was around about this time the company would release a good game every now and then. It really is hard to believe they became as big as they are when you look at their SNES releases.
red faction and the wrestling games i assume would have helped alot in that keeping the company going. the 1st red faction game was excellent.
SR3 sold 5 million copies, but it didn't help THQ stay afloat. The Darksiders games are unappreciated gems, unfortunately the second one didn't sell well enough. The only Red Faction game I've really liked was Guerrilla, although I haven't played Armageddon until now. They also released NBA Jam (all the ones developed by them instead of Midway were terrible though) and the first two Burnout games.
SR3 was alot more recent though, once they went 3rd person with red faction i lost interest, 1st one i enjoyed hugely and was one of my favourite FPS single player games on the PC, i never played it on PS2 really. red faction 2 wasn't as good. but each to their own
Guerrilla was a ton of fun, it was a sandbox game and nothing like the first two games though. Armageddon is an FPS again.
Of course, there's a slight chance they might add it to this bundle as an extra game later (or maybe Homefront...LOL), but if not, just wait for the Steam Xmas sale and it'll be really cheap.
yeah its currently £14.99 on steam so i'll wait till its reduced, i have homefront, damn that game was short and they seriously screwed up the multi player, had a lot of potential but not realised
And also, you know, by making it a jingoistic jerk-off fantasy so ridiculous it makes Red Dawn look like a documentary.
