Has anyone noticed how the original Burnout bears an striking resemblance to Konami's Thrill Drive, which was released in 98? Says the legend that Criterion once had a cabinet at their offices during the development of Burnout. But I wonder if Konami attemped to sue them for plagiarism/some kind of striking resemblance, when they revealed as the Red Shiny Car in 2000, the convertible was a Barchetta, in the Thrill Drive, you have an yellow one, in the final Burnout, you have an Red MR2 with an mustang 95 side windows, in the Thrill Drive, an Red Mustang. Also, there was cut levels for the Far East, which is included on the Konami game.
It's not an exact rip off though. Idea was similar to thrill drive, but Burnout had slightly different gameplay
Yeah, I think there has been some cases or at least law clarifications regarding this sort of thing in the past years.
