Cool. We're like 4 people from the office that are going there. Was planning to go to Roskilde too but the morons that plan for Arvika decided to move the festival to the same date as Roskilde >_<

 

Well, you know what ? I hate festivals, because they remind me of the bad things I experienced on island camps. But at least you are getting an awesome musical experience instead

It is a family with the "delights" of the 70´s free love shit and what not. Well let us just say it has become a bit more house clean, but when I stopped they still used loo´s as "toilets" and some years before I said "fuck it" to the crap there they didn´t have a fridge, but instead a ground cellar dug into the ground. And loads of other fucky stuff, and oh yeah what was that free love shit about ?

Well , when the kids went to their sleeping bag, the adult went into other peoples sleeping bag with other people than their rightful (wedded what ever) partner. And had some "fun" but what wasn't fun was. When the kids two hours later began waking up in the middle of the fucking night, and now you tried to sleep. Because you had just turned in 30 minutes before that. Then the kids went out and calling for their mother or father who slept with NOT each other. And you were trying to sleep while the kids were shouting for their parents... well go figure it was a fucking nightmare.
But I haven't even come to the "best" parts yet. The flies flew from the loos to the food you were fucking eating man. So quite a few times. People got the serious runs. And that was NOT fucking funny for the victim. shall I mention other incidents ?

it looks like two more concerts have been cancelled and skavenger216, fuck no to your answer about a thread. I will come with a few stories every now and then from the "island camp". Since I am NOT interested in giving myself any kind of traumas prematurely . Or for that matter PTSD, that would suck too.

 

That story about island camps is the greatest thing I've read all day.

no, some stories are more than tragic, so I am NOT making a thread about the experienced over a period of 14 years (damn that is a load of stories I could write ).

 

According to the BBC and the official website for DM, he's undergone surgery to remove a cancerous growth! So, slightly more worrying than assumed.

"On May 12th, lead singer Dave Gahan suffered a severe bout of gastroenteritis, leading to his hospitalization and the cancellation of the Athens concert. While in hospital, further medical tests revealed a low-grade malignant tumour in Dave's bladder, which has since been successfully removed. At doctors' orders Dave Gahan must take a break until June 8th, to ensure that he makes a full recovery. The Leipzig show on June 8th will be the first concert following Dave's recovery."

Actually, I do not read Brats (the webmaster) shit. But thanks for the news , the story why I am not fond of Brat goes back to the premordial days of the first Danish Depeche Mode forum. Which was a part of the now defunct painkiller.dk website.

 

I have heard that "Motor" is warming up for Depeche Mode, and all I know about "Motor" is that they are a French synthpop band. But can any one give me a link to them ? so I can listen to what kind of music they play, cause they guy who told me about them, he wasn't very fond of them.

Basically they are a mixed bag of mediocre and mostly bad "music" that is worse than Martin Gores DJ set, damn it is going to be dreadful in retrospect. Heck, they had better warm up bands back in the day of 1980´s such as Soft Cell and what not. But this ? that is just plain boring, heck the worst I have still experienced in Depeche Mode related warm up bands was a Danish "one hit wonder" band known as Nu which sucked, and their cover of GNR´s Welcome To The Jungle was just horrible, but then again that was not exactly DM, that was Dave´s concert in KB Hallen back when paper Monsters was up and running its course. Then again Mohair/Mohead (or something like that) and the Raveonettes who warmed up for Depeche Mode in Aar/Århus sucked major fucking donkey balls. So that the warm up band is that sucky is not something I think fondly off, heck it practically scares me. The best warm up band I have experienced was back when Technique played back in 1998 in Club Danmark Hallen, they were awesome, later on that group became Client (for at least one of the members) became that strange group that Andrew Fletcher has in his fold of weird arse bands.

It is weird to think about it, but twice I have experienced two Danish bands as any kind of warm ups for Depeche Mode(okay one DG and one DM concert), and they both sucked. For fucks sake, even a DM coverband could do better as a warm up for the lads, in comparison to the shite they find now a days. Heck even Press Play On Tape could make some noise, but then again it would not hit as hard as DM related stuff. Damn, I know now why my friend was not fond of Motor. Cause Motor; they suck !

Technique was like a female version of The Prodigy , and believe me when I look back at it, then they rocked bigtime, and they were awesome.

Nephew is a Danish band, but this song is in English. And Nephew really rocks. Even in Danish.

So if you ask me, then it is very sad that DM are using shite bands. When it comes warm up bands now a days.

Oh yeah, I have a little correction to make about the 1998 warm up band. They were called Purity and NOT technique .
