Music is a very personal thing for many people; I myself don't listen to the radio at all and most people don't understand my taste in music. It's perfectly o.k. to listen to something outside the norm. I don't think cahaz necessarily meant what he said in an offensive manner. We're all pals here
You cannot obiviously hear every albums released this year, so you cannot say that only two albums are worth it, especially considering that the two albums you've mentioned are from the mainstream only. Have you heard the new Behold...The Arctopus? No? Then how can you say it's not worth listening? This is only an exemple, of course, since i'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it anyway, even if it's quite a worthy creation. Making a top 10 out of every album released this year is quite impossible, but still somehow significant since it's subjective. On the other hand, saying that there's only two albums out of every one else released this year that a worth it, when i'm pretty sure you don't even know an 1/8 th of the genre and history defining discs that have been released in the underground scene in so many incalculable genres is pretty much a mistake, mate. 2007 is, imo, one of the best year from the decades in term of music.
There have been a ton of great releases this year, actually. We had sort of a dry period from 2003-2005 (or at least in what I listen to.) Some of my favorites: Skinny Puppy's Mythmaker was quite good. Being a massive fan I had to give it a chance and I didn't really like it at first... but it really grows on you, and it's much deeper than the previous effort. VNV Nation's Judgement is pretty decent. It's a really 'pretty' album, and it's much better than Matter+Form imho. The Crypt Injection by Dawn of Ashes is fantastic, and the new Agonoize is decent.
I realise my original reply came across as rather aggressive, and was actually phrased rather poorly, but I never suggested that they were the only 2 decent albums, just that they were head and shoulders above the rest. My point, and I'm gonna quote myself here, was: Anyway, Kiss and make up?
Not all of it is metal. Two are Post rock and one is unplacable in my mind*65daysofstatic* and i had forgotten Year Zero Came out this year. It would definetly be an honorable mention. Also this isn't including japanese bands. i tried to make it easier and it was still hard to put together. and don't be afraid to post your own top tens this year I had also Forgotten about Worlds Collide by Apocalyptica. that album is quite amazing
