Some shots of the projector in the dark, runing my nice Neogeo CD Frontloader:

And in high res with a Xbox360
    [IMG]

The PC with several copiers hooked up to the parallel port. Next to it, a Japanese SNES plus SWC DX with 32mbit.

The stck of Xboxes, one softmodded, one untouched. On top, a FZ-1 3D0 Frontloader Multiplayer
    [IMG]

The switchboard from hell. Yes, this allows to switch any console on display onto the projector. Below the Pal Gamecube and a Saturn.

PAL NES, PSone JP with LCD screen (closed) , a region modded US SNES (and some old Megadrive stuffed in the back) , and my dear PAL MultiMega
    [IMG]

PAL Dreamcast, and PAL N64 with 256mBit DoctorV64
    [IMG]

Steel Batallion - everyone needs one.

Center Speaker with a few Cams on top, in the back, a Megadrive with 32x on top of the Neogeo CD.

Neogeo AES and my US Virtualboy
    [IMG]

Stack of stuff. Note the Densha controller on the right lower end, the power shovel controller in the middle, and a genuine copy of BIG RIGS on top of the Kongas.

    A few handhelds.

    Neogeo parts
    [IMG]

Development Gear for the SNES, GBA, NGPC. Also, the old GBA has a TVdeAdvance stuck on its back.

6 Years of EDGE magazine and some Genesis stuff.

    More Genesis / 32X stuff
    [IMG]

The 360 and some PC sticks i never use.

    The main wall of consoles.

    ...from a different angle.

some shots of my custom finished table that spans most of the room
    [IMG]

    yes, its colorful.

yes, it was a lot of work.

kind of bad shot due to flash being used, this is my view while playing.

Wow - Love the switchboard! Hows the quality on that one - most cheap ones I've seen degrade it a fair amount?

Great collection mate, and a fine games room

    switcher

The switcher has a pretty decent quality. They all operate on SCART sockets, and i use decently shielded cable for the interconnections. To minimize cascades and quality loss, i use a "star layout, with a central hub that directs control to any of the other hubs, which themselves have the console wired up to.

You notice a *slight* decrease in luminosity, but thats all i saw. I can suggest those HAMA things, they are pretty cool.

Then again, i am still working on my custom made 30 way digital switcher. See another post on this board for details.

    switchers

    Hi Yakumo,

the Hama switchers are available SCART only but that i think is very convienient, because scart carries multiple signals including svideo, not sure about digital though. also not sure if they are avaiable outside if germany

Nice stuff there! Those switches seem to do the job nicely and the quality seems much better than some of the crap ones I've seen in the past.

What kind of projector is it?

I'll second that question. If you get the chance sometime.

    projector n things

    Hey guys,

ok i ll make some shots of it with the Neogeo, NES, SNES and a few more, when i am back from my business trip tomorrow.

The projector is a Panasonic PT AE 900 , mounted on the ceiling, and it rocks. Many projectors these days are pretty good, but i looked left right and center and compared their capabilities of dealing with weak, old signals, as well as line doubler quality, and finally diversity of inputs. That one stood out, it was not cheap at the time, but it is now :)

    the table

The Table was actually quite a bit of work. I made it all from DIY market components, and it took the better half of my spare time for about 2 months.

    1) I got the plan made and bought 3-4 pieces of compressed wood (in Germany, that type is called MDF, really fine grained compressed wood, very sturdy and has a smooth surface.

    2) I sawed it into the three pieces, the one on the main wall, the connecting piece, and the rounded "bar" piece

    3) While all this stuff was still in my garage, i started to scissor out literally a thousand snippets from game magazines and old hardware readouts that i no longer needed. Paper quality was at premium here, only thick paper can be used, because of the next step

    4) I used "tapestry(?)" glue (the stuff you use to glue decorative papers onto your walls) to glue all of the pieces into place, sometimes as many as four layers on top of each other, to get the desired effect. This took about 10 evenings for the ~5 square meters that had to be filled.

    5) Finally, when it all dried up, i applied 3 layers of boat lacker to get a shiny and sturdy surface, like you d expect from a table finish, it nicely protects everything and gives you back a smooth surface (the paper layers cannot be felt anymore when you swipe your hand over the table now)

    6) With all that done, i assembled it in the room, as can be seen on the pics.

The biggest challenge are the rounded edges, as you ll have to prepare very little strips of paper that have to line up to each other around the edges.

    it is....

yea, i have no screen right now, but i am planning to get one shortly. Since i do nothing else with that wall anyway, i might as well get a cheap one without a motor, and i reckon i can gain picture quality quite a bit.
