I got this game today and it won't let me boot it up at all. I have the network adaptor, someone gave me it awhile back. Do you seriously need some wierd disc to use online with the PS2? Where the fuck do I find it?
As far as i remember my ps2 only had a disc for the hard drive, not the network adaptor. Maybe its the game disc? have you tried it without the network adapter hooked up yet?
i don't think you need a disk for online play, i've only got a slim but i know that when i played socom 3 online i didn't need a disk so should be the same for the Phat ps2 unless i'm 100% wrong.
First? Have you made the network configurations with the network disc (or a game that has the network configurations setup)? When you boot up the disc, what error shows up. I don't know, but i guess the TMBO servers are no more. I don't really remember the last time i played.
Well, all I have is the game and the adaptor. I never had any network config disc. The game won't even let me to a main menu. It just says I need a config file on my memory card. The servers are dead? fuck!
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=305604 So you need the network disc or a game that has the network configuration setup. Some that have the network configutation are: Area 51, Socom (i guess all of them), MGS3: Subsistence, Killzone and Midnight Club 2. These are the all i remember right now, but i'm sure a lot more has the network configuration setup on them. Anyway, with that you can creat the config file for the network adapter work. I don't know, really. It's better that you give it a try, to be sure. Last PS2 game i played online was Killzone.
Also, any EA Sports game after 2004 or so should have the config utility on it. most EA ggames for ps2 are 5 to 10 dollars US now.
Me and my girlfriend played through half of that the other day! Can anyone verify if this still works or not for me?
TMB had a really cool story but I hated the music and some other parts of it. TM2 is pretty dated though. Guess I'll have to just play TMB. Kind of sucks. Was it any fun, or was it stupid? Really bothers me that this and some others can't ever be played again. I never got to try PS2 online.
the only game i ever played for the PS2 online was Tribes, at a friends house. the maps were so huge that i would fly a transport, pick people up, and drop them off near the perimeter of the map. then fly away. good times... EDIT: FIXED.
