I was in Bridlington today and didn't have time to have a good look around Bitz... So after I got home, I checked their website. Next time I'm over that way, I'll set aside some time for a rummage.. Eh? It looks like people didn't read the article correctly. The consoles are NOT in the local shop and they're NOT from Europe! They were found in Thailand, although it seems unclear as to whether they're currently in Thailand or France.
I want to find a warehouse full of PS1's ... just everything the original gray one and in boxes, brand new. <3 Also would be sick to find over 10 debugging stations. <3 :3
Everything is in Thailand, found by a french dude who lives and work near Bangkok. And that's no new story since a couple of other guys have been selling thousands of those games and systems for years on ebay. Like this guy: http://www.ebay.fr/sch/getdomain/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 From whom I bought two of these megadrives + 20 games in... 2008 By that time, one system would cost you 20 pounds, the games 2,50 pounds. Great inflation in such a short time ! If I knew, would have bought like 500 consoles from him
There is one thing that bothers me about this - when I was in Thailand pretty much every Megadrive I saw was one of the HK clones. Has anyone that got one of these opened it up to verify that it's actually a real Sega machine?
Well, it's easy to understand ^^ Back in time, there were two official distributors for Sega products: WyWy and Galaxy. Those people imported loans of megadrives and games but didn't expect... almost NOBODY would buy them since you could find clones everywhere for 1/10th the price ! Therefore, all this stuff slept in warehouses for the last 20 years, waiting for someone to be interested.
