Oh that's a 6th gen licensed game. 99.99% of them (and there's enough so that some are in the .01%) are complete and utter crap.

Oh the "Seal of quality" was never about making sure good games were released, it was to make the public THINK only good games were released.

And it allowed Nintendo to strictly control the number of games released.

It had nothing to do with whether a game was good or not, just whether it was licensed by Nintendo, as opposed to Atari who had no licensing policies.

It had to do with the (North American, pretty much console only) Crash of 1983. Since Atari was legally barred from keeping companies from publishing games for the 2600 (Atari sued Activision, which was founded by ex-Atari employees, but the gist is that Atari sued Activision, and lost eventually in 82), pretty much anyone made 2600 games, since it had no lockout protection (because the 2600 wasn't designed to keep third party games out). Nintendo would only allow a certain number of games that could use the chip to get the NES to allow it (other companies circumvented it, but that's not important). Those games got the "seal of quality" which made customers think they were getting a good game (because a lot of the third party Atari that didn't come from Activision games were garbage), when in reality it was really just one of I think 2 or 3 games the publisher decided to release that year.

Makes me sad to see Ubisoft go down the drain this badly, I remember a time when they pumped out some pretty good games. The initial Splinter Cell trilogy was freaking fantastic and set a new standard for stealth games, the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy was good, and I think a lot of people can agree the first two Rayman games are masterpieces.

Sick of companies thinking its okay for them to released unfinished product and fix it later when they get paid. Last Ubi game i purchased was zombii U and i really enjoyed it. It so far still displays the best use of the Wii U gamepad, and it was a launch title. Lets go back to that Ubisoft please

I completely agree with you, I bought both MCC and BF4 and they were so broken I lost faith in the entire industry. The only game out for next-gen that I am truly satisfied with is Destiny.

Honestly these developers are shooting themselves in the foot, because launch bugs/broken gameplay not only gives me less incentive to pre-order the game (which is, I swear, being shoved down our throats more and more each year), but gives me more incentive to wait until a price drop to buy a game.

Seriously? A game that was self-admittedly hacked apart to sell DLC to suckers?

Forza Horizon 2 would be my example of a new-gen game I'm 100% satisfied with.

Games being buggy and broken, made me think . And guess what ? This picture makes sense to me, probably to other people too.

I agree with you on Forza Horizon 2. I would also add Killzone Shadow Fall, inFamous Second Son and inFamous First Light. We can debate if they're good or not, but they're graphically amazing and work without issues.

Driveclub would be on that list if it wasn't for the online issues, that are still not fully fixed. I saw the game on a store last night and it's insanely beautiful and reminds me of PGR.

As for Destiny, i got it for free on the PS4 bundle so i can't complain really. I won't buy any of it's DLC so when i complete the content from disc, that's it. Short or not, i'll consider it a demo. Wouldn't mind playing it with some of you guys though.

Still, with all Destiny faults, the game isn't broken. The ammount of people playing (or have played) since launch is huge and it never had any sort of big issues. The game is shamefully split on DLC yes, but not broken.

    They forgot to add Sonic.

Sonic 06 (the worst console Sonic game, by far) doesn't have any connectivity issues. Except for connecting to the game.

Looks like they haven't learned nothing...

"Ubisoft warns players not to trust early reviews of The Crew"

    http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/25/7281529/ubisoft-the-crew-reviews

Their reason is mostly because of this:

"For this very reason, The Crew will be available to media to begin their reviews when the game launches on December 2. There will be absolutely no embargo on any type of coverage once the game is available for sale."

    http://blog.ubi.com/the-crew-road-tested/

So, there will be no "embargo", but the game reviewers will only receive the game on the launch day. That alone is a "embargo", only with a different approach.

    Honestly Ubisoft, go to hell.

It's funny that they'd do this when there's an open beta for The Crew that anyone who has a PS4 or Xbox One can play, assuming they want to spend time and bandwidth (about 15 GB) on it. I did, and the game sucks horribly. The most fun I had was laughing at the cringeworthy story that feels like Ubisoft decided to jump on the Fast and the Furious bandwagon (except even those shitty movies look like Dr. Strangelove compared to this garbage), but somehow didn't realize they were a decade late.

Today Ubisoft released a third patch for Unity. The details of the patch is so long and extensive that it can't be listed in this thread but here's the link: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/959126-Patch-3-Notes-Rolling-Out-This-week

I've seen MAME updates and full emulator tutorials with shorter notes then that!

Also today, the Ubisoft CEO apologized for releasing such a silly unstable game

""Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues," Mallat says. "I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."

All these horrible games lately, mainly Halo;MCC as its pretty much 80% of the reason I got an Xbox one - I've now decided I'm done with Xbox/ps4 consoles for awhile. I'm going to re purchase a wii U and just enjoy some of the gems available on that.

I honestly hope this is what a lot of people do, especially after Dark Souls 2 has just been announced as an upcoming game for xbox one/ps4.

This generation is a joke so far....
