Dude, the Windows 95 startup sound is THE BEST! I use that too. I can't say the same about the grey start bars and such though, those have always annoyed me.
2 EEEpc`s Running Linux 1 Desktop/Server Running Linux 1 Guts of a Mame Cab running Linux (not fully up and running yet) NEVER will windows blight my computers again.
Vista Home Premium and XP on my laptop. Use to dual boot Ubuntu but I just don't care anymore. I like playing PC games. I do think I'd use Linux all the time if it could play said games though.
Desktop: Ubuntu Laptop 1: Xubuntu/XP dualboot Laptop 2: Vista I also have several VMs set up for experimenting, and there is an old laptop base with Windows 98 in the cupboard somewhere.
I'm thinking about giving Slackware a try on my future file server. I just have to find a power supply and decent cardboard box for this motherboard.
That would be an awesome idea if it wasn't so thin... There are ways around that, though. I will seriously consider this idea.
unix = *nix = linux I guess I'll throw out my setup: Gentoo: Main work machine Gentoo: File Server Windows: Photoshop/Poker machine, and occasionally to read an Excel file that won't open in Open Office Emulation machine: XP with an Arcade VGA... thinking of a Linux solution, but haven't researched enough. Windows Laptop: Videos in bed, and something to shut the wife up.
...well, not at the same time. I was going to write "porn on planes and videos in bed" but that indeed, paints a bad picture.
Here is for me: Desktop 1: Gentoo 2008.0 beta 2 (unstable portage) Desktop 2: Gentoo (stable portage) Desktop 3: Gentoo (stable portage) Laptop 1: macbook pro 17" (Mac OS X 10.5.3) Laptop 2: Gentoo (unstable portage)
well the working concept is the same, the open-sourceness isn't/wasn't the same with unix. I m just being technical here of course
<EDIT: Removed really nerdy bit about Unix> I went through a big phase of using Ubuntu, although recently I find myself constantly booting into Windows for Visual Studio. However, I also spend a huge amount of time in MacOS X because my laptop does things that way. I can't really answer the poll - I use both Windows and (Linu||Uni||MacOS)X in equal measures.
