Hello! Recently I recently went and visited my parents, and upon looking in the basement, found this odd object here. It was bought around 2003 and is supposedly not custom made. After talking about it in the IRC, it boiled down to either being promotional material or custom made after all. I also could not find this online at all, or anything referencing it. http://imgur.com/a/Gxi4n There is absolutely no indicator of who or where this came from. Zero trademark, company name or anything. Any help would be appreciated, thank you! Being a Chinese/Asian knockoff seems very plausible, especially considering I cannot find any identifying mark of any company at all on the item. I would think if the item were commissioned that there would be some sort of identifying mark on it. Thank you very much for the response!
Yeah. Seems very 'knockoffy'. Why would Nintendo even sell something like that? lol. So It's most likely a knockoff.
Early 2000's there were multiple sellers on eBay which offered these exact same lights, with the option that you could customize what you wanted 'engraved' in the glass. So I put my money on, this is 100% unofficial and generic.
Well hey, that's alright! It definitely was never part of an "unreleased" Mario Kart game, because the art is straight from Super Circuit, but it's a great piece of my childhood that I'm glad I got to the bottom of. Thanks again guys!
