Would like to see that video. Boozing and sakura bring out some weird stuff.

I'm not sure if these are beta pics or not. I picked up a box of shit that was basically a bunch of promo items. Nothing too fantastic in it other than two things. A Sonic Adventure and Shenmue booklet. They're almost LP size, so I can't scan each page in its entirety.

The only date I can find on the Shenmue one is 1998, so I assume it was pre-Shenmue. The funny thing is, there's more Shenmue 2 pics in it, than Shenmue Chapter 1. I've uploaded some of the pics in question. It's been years since I've played either of them, but I'm pretty damn sure there was no images (in 1 or 2) of Shenfua being manhandled by some goons.

I'll post more on Japanese Gaming one day. I'll have to break out the digital camera. Until then, take a look and let me know:

GaijinPunch, those pictures are taken from the Project Berkly disc. They aren't actualy from the games of Shenmue.

I don't even know what the project berkley disc is, although it sounds somewhat familiar. Care to enlighten me?

The back of it shows some face sculptures they used for some of the characters. Wonder how much those would cost.

Project Berkley disc is a disc that came with virtua fighter 3 when it was release in japan that shows alot of concept fmvs and art of shenmue. It also has yu suzuki speaking at some points about shenmue.

I have compiled a load of images of the early P.N.03 game for the 'Cube. The original version had Vanessa with a gun, and she had a few moves/talents missing from the released version. In the early build she could shoot whilst jumping, somersault over enemies (while shooting again). She also had a much better duck feature, she would cling to the walls Solid Snake esque style.

Due to the number of pictures I have hosted them instead of sticking them all here. I have also watermarked them, due to the amount of time it took to get them all together. I didnt really want to do it, but I dont want anyone taking credit for my hard work.

I also have a video of the early build, if anyone with more bandwidth/space than me can host it?

That's a pretty cool looking SFC - CD picture there. I wonder if it's a working proto type?

remember the guy on the old board that said something along the lines of "if you have 3 million yen I could give you a solid lead to a prototype"?
sounded like utter BS but who knows...

I have 3 million yen but there's no way in hell I'd give some arse that much money just for being "pointed" in the right direction. I'd want the system.

I wonder if this pic is true or fake. I'm sure it wasn't named Playstation at that time.

3 million yen is only: 27,391.70 USD

so that's far from being a millionaire, hell you can't even buy a verry nice car for that kinda money :smt040

True. In my book the only real millioare is someone who owns 1 million pounds !! That's worth a hellof a lot more than 1 million dollars.

http://www.warmech.net/warmech.html has a bunch of Final Fantasy VII,X,XI, Final Fantasy IV nes beta/concept art, and Seiken Densetsu for nes shots which are pretty neat, although they're very hard to see, amongst others. They also ha This site here http://home.earthlink.net/~letrimh/chart.htm has beta screens from Chrono Trigger and pre-art for Chrono Cross...I'd kill to find more on any of those games. I do have in an old magazine beta screens of Seiken Densetsu 2, but I can't find it anywhere sadly.

One of the very few sure things about Sony+Nintendo's CD-ROM drive for the Super Famicom is that it was indeed already named PlayStation at the time. The name PlayStation has been used for the Sony/Nintendo thing since at least 1991.

Saving money in Japan is kind of the cool thing to do. This is a land where people that make $30k USD/year can save $10k of it. The women are the best at this. The smartest thing the man can do is give it to his wife. :) I know, it's shocking -- seems that saving money in the west is so out of style.

Back to the topic, I just missed an auction a Saturn Magazine that had an announcement of Biohazard 2 for the Saturn. Not sure if it had pics or not.

Here's some more stuff at JG that wasn't released. It's been there a while, just never pointed it out.
Oh, My Goddess for the SFC
    Strider Hiryuu for the Famicom
Another Strider Hiryuu for the Famicom (yes, I know it was released in the US)
    Shonen Majutsushi Indy
    Merry-go-round for the MegaDrive

Monica no Shiro for the Saturn, which I *THINK* I posted here before, but can't remember.... too lazy to search through the thread. Sue me.

There's a couple more hiding in there I think as well.
