I must be one of the very few who got exactly what they wanted from No Mans Sky. Then again I literally only watched the initial launch trailer before going in. I haven't read gaming news for the past 5 or so years as it all just seems so...fake or something, can't quite put a finger on it. So yeah, I never got to see all the "hype". Once I played it I was actually quite pleased to find that there WAS much more to do on the planets than "look at the pretty flowers". I mean it's a lot of the same sort of stuff after a while I suppose, but it's not like the planets/galaxies are barren. There is stuff to find and do to upgrade your stuff. I find the exploration entertaining to pick up and play for an hour or two when I just need to wind down. I dunno, I think this is a case of where the hype the better of everyone. I went in with zero expectations and ended being really happy with it.

By the way, I watched that video, the main thing I heard the Hello Games dude say that wasn't actually true was being able to see another person, however unlikely. They then showed the clip of the two people on the same planet not seeing each other. Other than that, all I saw was people randomly bashing and the crashes and stuff. On that subject, I haven't had a single crash like they showed. I had some stuttering on the initial game, but the patch completely cleared it up. I upped the frame rate cap to 60 and it actually runs quite smooth most the time on my modest PC.
