Hello world I would like upgrade my debug kit with a better FAN cpu and and better IDE cable. I am looking for a ULTRA ATA 60 cm, I buy it but to short: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/NEW-Startec...h=item48bb2801a8:g:u0kAAOSwiE1cEw1U:rk:5:pf:0 So I try to change FAN CPU too for a new 12v. So it fit in radiator but screw dont block it. Any idea to block it fix? THX
There are 24" and 36" long Ultra ATA cables instead of the 18" standard length variety. 24in Ultra ATA 100/133 IDE Cable, 2 Device, IDC 40 - 80 Conductor 21AT-10124-100 2,63 EUR Startech IDE66_36 36in Dual Drive Ultra ATA / 66/100/133 Ribbon Cable 80pin 12,30 EUR SUPER LONG 3ft 3ft 36inch Ultra ATA 133 IDE High Speed Cable 1,76 EUR No idea about the GPU fan. I'd purchased some ages ago that fit the heatsink like the original.
I continue to try to improve my debug kit with a 500gb SATA HDD. So when I try to format it I have this message: I use a toshiba HDD. My Xbox debug rev: THX
On a retail Xbox, error 16 indicates a loss of clock data and the dashboard file to set it is not found on the HDD. Clock loss is a result of a discharged clock cap after removing AC power from the console. I see you've removed to clock cap so the instant you unplug the console, the clock date/time will be lost.
It will work, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's the same type of aerogel cap that was installed originally, and they seem to have a long-term failure rate approaching 100% - I would recommend using some non-aerogel EDLC instead - something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pc-Nichi...4:g:v4sAAOSwxCxT~NMM:rk:2:pf:1&frcectupt=true
nice if it's leak proof I will never remove it. So another thing, I upgrade my debug kit with this serial card homebrew. https://assemblergames.com/threads/wtb-original-xbox-devkit-serial-board.68800/#post-977155 Unfortanally doesnot work. With my big PC in W10, error message like "Power surge on the USB port in Windows 10" with BSOD and my laptop in Win7 nothing.
Power surge is something related to the usb-serial adapter or you are trying to power the homebrew card from the usb. Try to swap the usb adapter.
I have this usb to serial for raspery: https://www.adafruit.com/product/954 When I connect it without the module driver instal well. When I connect the module, even if xbox turn off I have error message about the surge
THX I will try it. I receved it today, is it one way to mount it because one leg short and one leg long? EDIT:
Yes, they are polarized - the negative is marked by a band with "-" signs in it. The polarity should be marked on the board - MS normally mark them both with a "+" on the positive pin and a filled area of the silkscreen near the negative terminal.
When you installed the old HDD, did the dashboard startup asking to set the date/time? If so, set it and don't unplug AC power when attempting to format the new larger HDD.
Finaly I succes to solder the new super capacitor and install the new HDD: I assume I make a relatively good job could you confirm please: I assume that good polarity but I will check if super capacitor inflate. is it a leak here?
Can't tell as the images aren't the clearest to make out. The bottom cap solder point in the first image doesn't look too good to me and there seems to be a lot of flux left and possible solder beads splattered about on the PCB. Last picture where do you think there's a leak? Too many caps to know which you think is having a problem.
