A really great item. Get yourself an HDMI capture card and it bypasses the HDCP protection. Lossless recording is fantastic and it will play ANY PS1/2/3 game including backups/betas etc. Upscale old games to 720P and you can capture in progressive scan, then slide the resolution back down to 480p in post processing. Fantastic video quality. Probably my most prized console in existence.

Do ps1/2 backups from any region simply load hassle-free?
How about ps3 backups from external hdd?
I've never seen one of these on sale at such a good price in such good condition.

Hmm? I've got Rebug CFW on my cecha01, which enables debug options. One of them allows the user to choose video output resolution; is this what you're referring to? Additionally, everything I own is run through a Yamaha RXA-3000 receiver which scales everything to any resolution I choose. I'm a techno geek and just curious as to what you mean by this statement; how can I upscale, THEN downscale in regards to this specific console? Sorry, I'm only asking because I'm SERIOUSLY considering purchasing this unit! I've been searching Google for ANY and ALL DEX related info for days.
