Looking at how old alpha kits were running on Power G5's, even though its probably impossible, is it possible to run 360 games on one?
Firstly you would need the operating system Microsoft built for the G5, then you would be able to run only games that were built with the G5. Nothing like final releases.
So it'd be possible to play prototypes and it's one leak of that Microsoft dev system away? Sounds pretty good to me to be honest. That's better than many other things that you want to play prototype software of. Currently daydreaming about that long obscurities wish-list with a Dreamcast dev kit being pretty high on there.
Id imagine there would be some hardware check so you'd have to have the EXACT same spec as what the alpha G5 kits were. I believe there's documentation out there showing what it had. Just imagine how you make a frankenalpha for the original Xbox now. And there are no publicly released G5 builds out there as far as I know, there was one in the forums not long ago, if you were lucky enough to grab that before it got pulled down. Please don't ask me for it.
Interesting... Well, should someone ever feel the strong need to share some insight into dev builds, my PM box is always open. I'm terrible at following Xbox leaks (or leaks in general), especially now that I'm currently going through a strong phase of Wii U affection. Within months I really upped my Nintendo game (ba-dum-tshhh) and so far I'm really not looking a lot at other sides, save for my Vita and sometimes the Dreamcast.
keep your eyes out for those PGR and tennis prototypes shown on alpha kits if you wanna play something
