Using a NeGcon PS1 controller on PS3

I've ordered a NeGcon and it'd be nice to use it on my PS3 to play Ridge Racer and Wipeout, rather than getting the PS1 out of the attic.

Has anyone got a NeGcon controller and a PS1/PS2 to PS3 adapter that they can test out and see if it works?

Thanks, I watched a couple and they have a pretty complicated set-up going on.

NeGcon -> PS to Xbox adapter -> Xbox to PS adapter -> PS to USB adapter

Unclear why a simple PS to USB adapter doesn't work, but one video says it doesn't. The cheap $2 adapter must not handle the NeGcon button mapping correctly..

Thought I'd sign up to let you know that I finally found a PS > USB adapter that works perfectly with neGcon (I have the black one NPC-104). It works with all buttons and analogue functions (i.e. twist, the two red buttons and the left shoulder).

Only snag is that mine died after day one! However, this doesn't seem to be a problem in the reviews, so I just think I got unlucky. Anyway, I got the refund and have just ordered another.

Awesome, had no idea there was an adapter that worked.

 

Great, glad it helped. I trawled Google for a long time until I found it this week, so I wanted to help like-minded neGcon fans!

Now, if only They would produce an updated version. It is a fantastic controller for racing games - very intuitive and and has all the control of a wheel with much more convenience. I guess people are put-off before they even try it because it is hard to imagine (by looking at it) that it might be any good.
