Yep and it might run cooler too. If it goes out then just replace it with a Japanese psu.

Umm no that's not true. Japan uses 100V at 50/60Hz. It even says it in that article. The OP wants to use his American consoles in Japan.

Not many people realize this but we actually do use 240V at 60Hz in the USA, but it's only for major appliances and not normal electronics. The voltage enters the house at 240V from which it is then converted to 110-125V and sent to wall outlets. Appliance outlets output 240V for things like washing machines and electric stoves, which use 240V at 60Hz. There are a handful of other countries that to do this too.

Hes basically saying it doesnt matter. Which 99% of the time is correct, you very much over complicated this whole thread.

Yes, it will work in Japan or a japanese one will work in the US. Simple

While it may not matter for game consoles, it definitely matters for other devices. There are many things out there that will be underpowered on 100V. Some might even be damaged when the power switches to 50Hz.

Also, I'm not over complicating the whole thread. I have clearly stated multiple times that he shouldn't have issues. I also said that if the PSU blows, replace it with a Japanese one. I'm saying that because he will be in Japan, where a Japanese PSU is easier to come by. If the PSU is working fine, then there is no need to replace it.

he specifically talking about a dreamcast anyway, not other devices. If you want to go on a rant about stuff unrelated to what was asked, don't be surprised if someone says you are over complicating things.

You clearly didn't say anything like that in your first reply, until other people said it would work fine.
