So i got my new HDTV to go in my bedroom and my first though was to connect my xbox 360 via component to test the quality as i've only been using it on an SD tv so far.

Problem with that is my TV has no component input despite it being listed online and in the manual it says i have to use an adapter to go from component to VGA.

So anyone know where i can pick up a cheap VGA to component cable so i can use my xbox360, the one's i've saw so far are only male components and not female and therefore unusable.

It'll be cheaper and better quality to buy a 360 VGA cable.

If it's just for 360, Buy a 360 VGA cable. It's far cheaper then buying a Scaler (that can convert the signal).

Microsoft sales official VGA cables for the system.

Does your TV have HDMI? I would just use that then.

I've heard using the 360 VGA cables cause the colors to be really washed out and lacking in saturation

They released an update a while ago that allows you adjust that. It made a big difference; I no longer use VGA for my 360 though, so I can't say for sure what the option was labeled.

I too have heard the colors are washed out. As for the update I cannot confirm/deny.

My TV has HDMI but i have an older 360 which doesn't have HDMI so that's why i have to use component/VGA over the crap composite cables i currently have.

I read Component Video Socket so assumed at least one would be present and that i'd have a use for it with my 360 so i could use my HDTV with something that can output in HD.

I wasn't aware (wasn't listed in specs) that it had VGA let alone that an adapter was needed to use component output on the TV but i have ordered a VGA cable now anyway.

They added options for VGA colors years ago. Allows you to choose more vibrant options
