Wow, just wow. This is plain pathetic if you ask me.

Im a tad surprised this started in a country other than America with all of our self-righteous politicians like Jack Thompson and Lieberman and etc. though.

IMO, its only a matter of time before these start sprouting up everywhere. My parents would probably be all for putting me into one of these even though I dont play my games as often as I used to. On the other hand I can only see this detox clinic for gamers as something to heal constant MMO players and people that resort to theivery and etc. to get money or free trial codes or what have you to keep playing their online game, though.

Of course this maybe COULD be a legitimate clinic for people that ACTUALLY have problems. I'm a tad afraid of all the jokes and the not so joke-ish comments my folks will tell me about these institutions, however.

I've been told by my parents I have a problem because I have a game with 110 hours on it. And thats just ONE game.

You know when Jack finds out about this he won't stop praising them.

I actually know a guy that has a problem with playing too much Halo 2 online. He commited various petty crimes to get his hands on trial codes (not Online theft either!), so I think people like that would be suitable for the detox clinics.

Maybe the Koreans who wont get up to shit during Lan parties need to go, too.

Yeah, with Koreans dying online and killing each other over virtual treasure, maybe this isn't such a joke after all.

Im soo passed that whole game addiction thing, FFXI kind of killed me being able to sit down for 12 hours and play a game straight through. Now I can barely get through Metal Slug without wanting to stop. So yea, while FFXI was an addiction at first, it actually made me play less games in the end.

Oh, I forgot about someone else that needs this treatment.

To quote something I said a lot earlier:

Yeah, that guys name is Tim Crist, and he is in definite need of these detox clinics to get rid of his sick and crazy relation with Pacman.

Though there is the SLIGHT possibility VH1 told him to act like an idiot like he did.

EDIT: Oh and here is his picture:

I dunno, this is a very strange concept. I guess in places like Korea or something where people die while playing MMOs and what not it could be needed.

In the states? I don't know, don't have like like, 2-3 videogame related deaths a year (or at least 2-3 that get reported, most of which are MMO related suicides or some such nonsense)?

I'm assuming this is mostly for people with online game addictions, I know a couple of people who're getting pretty bad for WoW.

What the fuck, though. Put the damn game down and go get some fresh air.

I've had at least 5 friends devoured by Everquest/EQ2/WoW... and while it IS annoying as hell (especially when you're trying to get a good game of DnD going), I wouldn't put them in detox.

Hell, the first thing they'd do when they got out would probably be try to make up for lost time. [IMG]
