    I finally got them.... in some hours you'll see them... every retarded that opened the mouth bad for saturn should shut up like a bitch...because they are on Saturn 100%.. Anthaemia talked about it some time ago...

    In some hours.... that and a scan that confirms SCUD RACE was in the works for the Saturn, NAGOSHI - SAN words.

    Expect it...

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    EDITED:

    First of all, this is for a reason. The reason is SEGASATURNO.COM , you guys must stay tunned because we are going to bring a lot of news to the portal, including big surprises.

    First, the Nagoshi interview. later, the VF2 pictures.

    The nagoshi interviews comes from HOBBY CONSOLAS, a spanish videogame magazine, probably the most famous. The text is in Spanish. But i will translate the concrete part that matters us.

    [IMG]

    Towards the end of the page...it asks

    ¿Habrá una versión para Saturn? / There's gonna be a Saturn version?

    -Yes, the game is going to be released for Sega Saturn, but maybe we have to adapt it technically. Is really hard to obtain the same graphic quality than with the model3

    ¿Que piensas de estas conversiones par Saturn? / What do you think of those conversions for Saturn?

    -Well, i'm really satisfied that the Saturn users can enjoy those big Sega games at home.

    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    In some hours i will post the VF2 PAI CHAN tech demo... JAWDROPPING. ;)

    I have a feeling I know what this Pai Chan demo is. If I'm right it's one I had on video years ago. Very nice stuff that actually made the Pai Chan model used in VF2 a little sad. Then again this is only a 1 character tech demo. There should be an Akira, Jacky and Sarah one as well if memory serves me right.

    Besides the threat in your first post (lol) I really appreciate the pictures and info. Wish they really took advantage of the Saturn, but unfortunately so many of the games we loved were rushed.

    As I thought, it is the same Pai demo that I had a video of. It's good to see it again even if it is in stills. Thanks for the pictures!

    a real shame saturn wasn't delayed 6 months. 6 months more for working and planning everything would have made a really different life for the console.

    it was a constant rush from start to end.

    It's in my parents house back in the UK. I got it from a guy who I used to work in Sega Europe down in London. The tape features very early Virtua Fighter demos including a fighter made out of hearts and stuff! That Pai Tech demo is on it along with the Dayton car driving on the mode 7 floor. Those very early Panzer Dragoon CG mok-ups were on it and I can tell you it was freaky shit seeing it in motion:nod: Then we have Van Battle which turned out to be Battle Monsters, Magic Knight Rayearth so early in development that only map tests were present, very early Virtual Racing moving at a painful 10fps or less! Looked nothing like the final game either. Virtual Hydlide with no collision detection, very odd looking football (Soccer) game which I believe became Victory Goal and other stuff such as Gran Chaser, Rampo and that Mason game.

    That tape was 30 minutes of the ULTIMATE Saturn fans wet dream:nod:

    Last time I went back to the UK I searched through 60 odd tapes looking for this stuff but couldn't find it. I still had another 40 or so tapes to check but just didn't have the time.

    Yakumo

    PS: There are two guys who should have copies of this tape. One guy got a copy from me and lives in Birkenhead, UK. Nocomply (a member here) knows who I'm talking about. The other guy is or was (10 years or so ago) one of the biggest anime suppliers in the UK living in Northampton. However his home got raided after someone tipped off the authorities about his collection of uncensored adult anime. If one of those two are reading this then PLEASE released the tape if you still have it.

    I've been on the receiving end of some quite harsh criticism for my "banging on" about cancelled or prototype Saturn games in particular, including several currently being discussed right now. I can understand where many people were coming from, since most of my points were not backed up with solid evidence. Well, it's taken a while but we're finally starting to see reasons for keeping faith when others don't always share your enthusiasm. After years of being told that I was mistaken, it's great to see Nagoshi-san's comments in print regarding the possibility of SCUD Race heading to Saturn. Considering the hype behind Model 3 at the time, I'm surprised we didn't hear more about this - unless the project was abandoned quite early, that is! Virtua Fighter 3 was being similarly kept under great levels of secrecy, and I can only imagine this was being done to increase the surprise when something was shown in public for the first time. I've no reason to doubt Sega's ability to create something incredible for Saturn owners with either SCUD Race or VF3, though it would have been foolish to expect pixel-perfect conversions. As for that "heart character" VF demo that Yakumo mentioned, there's a brief clip from this in the history section of VF3tb. Finally, I recently found some footage of a late pre-release Daytona build on YouTube. Sorry for not being able to remember the exact link, though searching for Sega Saturn Game Information will return a four-part series that should do the business, so to speak.

    Well, I must apologise for ranting (despite it being something of a personal trademark), but this doesn't happen often and I totally love it when details you'd only heard for years are finally consolidated with visual proof. By raising awareness there's always a chance someone will later come forward with a key point you couldn't provide yourself, which is why I'm still hopeful that one day we'll have more than just my second-hand information relating to Saturn VF3 if I could name only one example of the many unreleased games I've spent years absorbing every last scrap of knowledge on. We're probably never going to convince Sega these long-lost pieces of code are worthy of release, though it's reassuring to know the Saturn had more potential in its later days than half-baked conversions (Touring Car, House Of The Dead, etc.) and *shudder* Courier Crisis! If you're as enthusiastic about the Saturn games languishing in a vault somewhere, how about taking me up on that offer of a drink? For once I'm actually joking, but wouldn't it be great?

    P.S. In regards to the search for that "holy grail" of a videotape, the second guy Yakumo mentioned sounds very much like the supplier for a local anime store I remember being busted a few years back. At first it was due to growing complaints about overcharging for boxed sets a few suspected were high quality bootlegs, only later the police discovered a wealth of questionable material in his personal collection. I seem to recall the store reopened elsewhere under a new name with higher prices and 100% genuine products obtained through a new supplier, but its reputation never recovered and I for one haven't shopped there in a long time. Anyway, we're probably venturing a little off-topic here!

    I doubt it's the same guy. The guy I knew was busted over 10 years ago and never had a store. He used to sell at conventions or by mail. His prices where normally per tape so you could get 3 hours worth of anime for 8 pound I think it was.

    No, it's probably not the same guy now you mention it. However, there was one similarity in particular that reminds me of when I first got into the anime scene, and that's getting extended length tapes full of titles. Someone once handed over to me a copy of Akira (with the opening and credits edited out) that also included Roujin Z... or at least the first hour. I spent years trying to figure out what the last film on that cassette was, only complete it's not even half as mysterious to me. Three cheers for going off-topic and reminiscing about the VHS era of illicit anime distribution!
