The guy who was asking for $250 to dump the game just bought it? Where was the dump coming from prior to him winning this on ebay? Does he have 2 of them now?
I don't believe the winner of VH is a dumper, very much just a collector. I could be wrong of course but I've never known the winner to do anything but buy buy buy! X-Men could be a different story. How does one dump a 32x cart anyway?
Why would a collector have stumped up a high price for this game knowing a dump was in the pipeline? I know some people prefer the actual item (me included) but that does seem strange to even me.
Perhaps the winner didn't know. It wasn't that high anyway, and an original will still have value to collectors as you say.
Earthbound sold at $ 1000,- + and is also dumped. Basically I dont care if its dumped or not, if somebody has a CV proto I just buy it for my collection even if it has been dumped or is final.
It is true Earthbound continues to sell for big bucks. One of the rare exceptions but there seem to be many Earthbound collectors out there. It shocks me every time I see one sell. How would one even tell a fake from a real one should fakes start poping up? 2 new eproms + common proto board+ Earthbound rom = 1k As for VH it is a 32x proto. The proto boards aren't exactly common so even a common released game would sell for a decent amount I would think. Sure we can all say one day it will be dumped but as of today it is not. All things considered $500 for an unreleased 32x game isn't bad.
We all need to remember that the most important thing here is that we're all lucky enough to exist in a universe where there is a video game titled Virtua Hamster.
