    ..it's not because the display is red, so much as it's because there are 2 separate LCD (led?) displays inside, that fool your eyes into seeing a 3D stereoscoiopic image.. but through the same process by which they fool your eyes into seeing it in 3D, your eyes can also be fooled into straining too hard to focus on the screens, or to make things 3D which shouldnt be.. a good case in point is Panic Bomber; some of the win screens have a flat plane in the foreground and some other stuff in the background, which line up well in 3D, but then the 'YOU WIN' text isn't quite aligned properly, so at least for me, my eyes/brain freak out trying to figure out where in the depth of field the stuff should be, and it gives me a headache within minutes, every time.

    that said, i hunted ebay for ~1yr tryin to get one a decent price, and eventually got one with panic bomber and mario tennis for $25, and it sits along with the vectrex as the centerpieces of my collection... gets a "WTF is THAT?" out of folks every time.
