Well how do you think about it. First Project Cars released i played it and after that movies i musst have it...
From what I read recently, there should be 2 or 3 alternatives, and probably better. That's assuming VR takes off anyway, probably won't. When technology gets like on Star Trek with a Holodeck, then that will be totally desirable!
Well, as Gamester on YouTube reviewed the Oculus; you still get headaches from using the gadget, also it leaves ridges on your nose, unit feels uncomfortable. What you expect really from such headgear and focussing on a screen in front of your eyes projecting distance (ie disorientation). Yes, there will be other VR alternatives out there, until the fad ends soon afterwards when VR proves itself as a failure, yet again.
Have you actually tried a rift? I did and even though the graphics of the demo were less impressive than project cars it still felt real. The problem the hardware has is the size and weight. Oh and price. If it was cheaper I'd buy one as I found using it a real impressive experience.
No, not tried one myself although could do easily as I have a Novatech computer store nearby and they have one on demo. I didn't use it as i'm not interested in modern gaming generally, my computers are not high enough spec to use one and also cannot justify the price for what it is. If it becomes mainstream in a few years time, I might be tempted though.
I understand both of you, the point that you have a note 4 display in front of your eyes, the price and the weight. Looks like a gadget at all, but with project cars i think first time an really nice vr option.
I bought dev kit 1 way back then, even with the crappy display it was still bad ass. But I'm one of the people that will get a headache after 5-10 min of using it. I spent so much time tweaking the settings and nothing. I have very good vision 20/10 so it might have something to do it. I can get vertigo very easily by simply spinning. Any spinning ride at an amusement park and I will a have headache + throwing up. Not sure if those issues are related at all. Just speculation.
I have also tested DK1, and i dont like the resolution at all. Its much better on DK2 i think, but i still dont have the chance to test a DK2, but when than with project cars for sure
Ive got a DK2 and think its great. Resolution isn't the best but its not that bad either. It is only a development kit and the final consumer version will have a higher resolution which will be good to have. Nothing else gives the same immersion out there
Xbox put up on their twitter that they have partnered with oculus, probs going to have Xbox one support
I got a vive some days ago and currently testing anything out. First at all the gameing expierence is amazing! The controller gives you really nice feeling in the vr. After some basic apps like valve lab and co i find a patch to play project cars with the vive. That is stunning me away. Play for hours and have so much fun.. Than i research and found another nice utility with vive support: vorpX gives you the ability to play DX9-11 games in full vr with 3d! Supported games list: http://www.vorpx.com/supported-games/ So next step is installing witcher 3. Here a vid guy playing GTA5 :
