Speaking of console-oriented accesories, did anyone here had a gxTV back in the day?

I remember the ads in Gamefan, and saw some of those working in stores, but I already had a 21" TV (the gx was like 13" I think) with enough AV connections, so there was little sense in buying one.

I got one and still have it. It is pretty well made besides one major flaw.
The little flaps that open up to reveal the screen and that have the speakers on them dont seem to last well overtime. I used to close the screen every night, but soon I found that it screwed up the cables, so now the sound is a bit off unless it is positioned right. :crying:

oh and I cant find pics of this "Genesis MK1 cleaning kit" you talking bout'.

And sorry, I hate being offtopic.

Was this Power Strip heavily advertised or what? I think I would have remembered seeing this in an EGM or something. It doesnt look familiar at all.

I had one back in the day. The local KB Toys was clearing them out at like $1.99 in their accessory bargain bin (along with all the remaining Sega CD games like Snatcher)

I think someone stuck that cleaning cart in one of the Genesis in the tower of power thread. What was a gxTV?

I cant find the picture I had of one opened with all the brushes and stuff inside, but I found this one:

    Biggest Sega tower ever, huh?

The cleaning kit is just between the power base converter and the game genie.

It was just a regular CRT TV screen made by Samsung that had some loudspeakers that would fold up over the screen and a subwoofer built in. It was mainly game-oriented, I guess. It sounded pretty good, compared to the usual crappy TV speakers at least. I still have one in my attic somewhere.

I thought I posted on this thread but it's gone. Weird. Anyway, yes, I saw one in the wild back when the Mega Drive was going great guns in the UK. They were not common though.
