:no Don't you think it's too soon to call it that? The new Xbox is doing a great job to get people's attention, specially because all it's new features and sytle. The PS3 might be something as good as it, and i think you need to wait before start criticizing.
mediocrity? What are you refering to exactly? How the games play? If thats the case i'd argue that the PS2 has the largest number of original titles out of all the systems this generation. If thats not it, please specify what your refering to.
I not sure I agree with the mediocrity comment either - digging past the easily visable mass-marketed drivel can yield some definate treasures - Skygunner, R-Type Final, Soul Reaver 2, Disgaea, Silpheed (yes, it's really not that bad) and Fatal Frame just happen to be a few of my favorites. Regardless, there's such a huge catalog for the system that unless you're into the obscure New Zealand sport of wombat herding, it's pretty much likely that you'd find something to your taste. Then again, this is all secondary to the fact that Sony's not the one making the games.

Referring exactly to Sony and it's Playstation systems. Never liked them, never will. The games by and large just don't appeal to me, and just because it has a large library means nothing as the majority of games are rather poor. That is all.
Almost all systems have a mostly crap lineup of games, its the ones that arn't which make a system what it is though. Sega Saturn for example has a crap to quality ratio of about 50-1, doesn't mean its not worth owning. But its an opinion, your entitled to it. I just didn't like how you made it out as if it should be treated as a lesser system due to your preferences.

Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean is mediocre. Making comments using others people opinion is idiocy. I don't like Chevrolet cars, but i don't tell everybody their cars are mediocre just because i don't like them or because a couple of friends said that. You should do yourself a favour and play the PS2. Yes, you have no idea how many cool games are avaiable (i'm not talking about the famous franchises/AAA Titles) I thought that these narrow-minded ideas were a thing of the past. I was wrong. :smt067
