this is a little off this topic but do you know any info about growlanser 1, and 4? 2 and 3 are being done by workingdesigns, and it would suck if we just got the "middle".

It all depends upon what you like really. I like quite a wide range in anime. Here's a list of some of my fav' ones.

    Masion Ikkoku -=Romantic Comedy=-
    Kimagure Orange Road -=Romantic Comedy=-
    Urusei Yatsura -=Romantic Comedy=-
    Gunsmith Cats -=Action Comedy=-
Bubblegum Crisis (New Bubblegum Crisis 2048 or what ever it's called is a load of crap) -=Cyberpunk Action=- (DON'T BUY THE US DUB VERSION. THE MUSIC IS AWFUL IN THOSE)
    Bubblegum Crash -=Cyberpunk Action=-
Cyber City Oedo 808 (Amazingly the English language version is best)-=Cyberpunk Action=-
    Tenchi Muyo -=Comedy=-
    Ranma 1/2 -=Comedy=-
    Mermade Forest -=Drama=-
    Mermade Scar -=Drama=-
    Gundam W -=Space Action=-
    Fushigi Yuugi -=Comedy Drama=-
    Video Girl AI -=Romantic Comedy=-
Record Of Lodoss Wars -=D&D Style action=-
Dominion (original first 4 parts are best) -=Hmm, Comedy=-
    Riding Bean -=Action=-
    Ushiro To Tora -=Ghost Drama=-
Nadia Secret Of Blue Water (a little like Cities of Gold)-=Adventure Action=-
Dangiao (DON'T BUY THE MANGA VIDEO RELEASE !!! IT'S CUT TO HELL)-=Space Action=-
    Saint Saya -=Action=-
    Gal Force -=Space Action=-

That's just a small selection of the anime shows that I like. There are also many movies too.

Anything by Studio Gibli is well worth getting but make sure you get the Japanese versions. Movies by this studio are.

    Totoro
    Whisper Of The Heart
    Grave Of The Fire Flies
    Laputa
    Nausica Vally Of The Wind
    Princess Mononoke
    Sen To Chihiro (Spirited Away)
Kiki No Takyubin (Kiki's Delivery Service)
and so on. Probably the worst movies by this company are Porko Rosso and that pompoko racoon one.

i picked up Ghibli 12 DVD collection set when I was in Korea and it contains all of Miyazaki's work since Ghibli time except the latest two - Spirited Away and Cat Return. We both big fan of Miyazaki and we even visited Ghibli Museum when we were in Tokyo... shame I couldn't get that clock set... too expensive according to missus :(

apart from Miyazaki the below are the anime I have in my collection...
as I'm old timer when it comes to anime some of them may not appeal to you...

    Galaxy Express 999 TV series
Galaxy Express 999 The Movie series
Zeta Gundam TV series - the best Gundam ever!
Kidou Shenshi Gundam The Movie set
Mazinger Z TV series - the grand daddy of modern giant robot anime
    Ghost in the Shell
Ghost In the Shell OVA Series
Bubblegum Crisis - original OVA series
    Akira
Gundam War in the Pocket - much different from other Gundam OVA/anime
Millennium Actress - something for different

and not anime but my fav DVD...
City of Lost Children - original French version
    Versus

isn't there another DVD with missing(?) episodes or something?
Our non-commercial channel SBS showed it not so long ago...
in fact they ran entire series and Bubblegum Crisis before that...
from time to time they shows Japanese anime series or in their cult classic segment...

great channel with no constraints commercial channels adhered by - i.e. it doesn't have and often not follow so called code of conduct - and shows pretty much everything uncensored and at any time although lately they pushes those Adult Theme materials after 9:30pm slots... also I watched numerous N/Europe, middle east films otherwise wouldn't have a clue...

    cheers
