I think Bomber Raid is quite hard to come by.

    Not sure about R-Type.

R-Type is middlerange. Bomber Raid is the rarest (~10'000, 60eur) as it was the last game for the system.
Alex Kidd BMX Trial (with custom controller) is also very sought after, 50EUR is a normal price for a well conditioned one.
There are no weird ultra rares for it though like for Mega Drive or Saturn, only if you include Gretzky Ice Hockey (a prototype release afaik) which goes for about 200$. Adol has one for sale IIRC. There is also a box with controller and Icehockey game which should went for quite a respectable sum, 400$ or so.

    /edit
The name of the hockey game is "Great Ice Hockey", nothing to do with Gretzky ^^

    I sold it.
Great Ice Hockey only had a PLAIN WHITE box, that you can create by yourself if you want...never had a REAL box.

For me the RAREST Mark 3 game is clearly Roletta no Shouzou.
The most sought after games? Alex Kidd BMX Trial,Final Bubble Bobble,R-Type,Bomber Raid to name a few..Woody Pop with Special controller,Kujakuoh,Dump Matsumoto, Hokuto no Ken as well.

It had no box on its own but there was a bundle with controller and the white box you mentioned.

That picture looks abit confusing.. It's the Jap cart.. with US manual and a US Sports Pad box. The other smaller white box could be home made.

The Jap Sports pad cam packaged with Sports Pad Soccer (see pic) but I didnt here of this other package in your picture - I dont think it would have the larger US pad if such a thing exsisted anyway. The only way to know for sure is to see the poly inserts for the US Sports Pad in your pic.

Indeed the game came within the Sports pad box if I remember correctly, also the Sports Pad in Japan was different to the one released in the states (did it get a realease in Europe?).

Sought after is fairly meaningless as what one person wants another may not... and most of the games that Adol mentioned apart from Bomber Raid are quite easy to find. Still why limit it to Mark III games when there are SG-1000 games, I'm still after all 3 box types for Monaco GP.

yes, totally different really. perhaps this is down to the relative size difference in hands? There was no European release (thank goodness ;-) )

it's not meaningless because it reflects the price - something that's not rare but valued and sought after may have high value - the demand is greater than the supply. that's what the question aludes to.

sc-1000.. Pachinko is hugely elusive right?

    how common is zippy race?

Not really, lots of games that are not sought after but hardly ever turn up, the so called sought after games can be bought very easily...

Zippy Race? See quite a few times and it's normally under 1000 yen.

RARER than any Mark 3 commercially released game.

    Space Slalom is a SG1000/SC 3000 game,not a Mark 3 one.
