Some sports games are fun, like Mutant League, Wii Sports, Virtua Tennis, but I think the stuff like Madden etc are kind of dumb and actually doing them is probably more fun. I just don't like how an anually updated game sells better then actual good games. Oh yeah, some soccer games are fun. I use to adore RPG's in PS/Saturn days, but now I just roll my eyes at them. They all look so generic and boring, but I liked some of the 360 ones, even though they were a little generic.
Generic sport titles lead the pack for me: I'm just sick of all the dumb, crappy football/basket games, and specially the fucktards that play them like theres no tomorrow... Another genre I cant stand is turn-based RPGs: is hard to think how these games could be even more boring than they are now. I can barely play adventure RPGs like Zelda, let alone one when the only action is moving through menues:110: MMORPGs are another pain in the ass, specially for the pay-for-working scheme thats actually the entire game. But the worst is how you can get hooked on these things, loosing most of your already scarse social life:lol: FPS arent bad, but I'm getting kinda tired of playing them, and the online part sucks: is nowhere near the awesomeness of playing in a LAN party:-(
I dislike Sports & RPGs very much. I don't know why I don't like RPGs though, because actually I enjoy it quite a lot to follow a good story with deep characters and stuff but I think it's because I consider the gameplay too slow and boring. Just my 2 cents. As for arcade games, I just can't stand any vs Fighting-games. Let it be Street Fighter, KoF, Last Blade, Tekken or whatever - I just won't get warm with them. I like Soul Calibur quite a lot though (the ONLY vs Fighting game I like!), but I'm bad at it so what the fuck ^^
Agree virtually 100%, but as an avid golfer and played off +2 for several years, these still keep me interested and will search for some of the rarer(ish) ones like the Masters versions
Indeed, having to lug around your rig and spending time with your peers setting up the grid was kinda bothersome. What is weird is that even when gaming laptops are a hell of a lot cheaper than say 4 or 5 years ago (back then a crappy one would be $2500 or more, today you can get an almost highend one for $1500 or less) LAN parties seem to be going the way of arcades, which is a downer:-(
Games I do not like: First Person Shooting -- I cannot adapt to these games. I fail and never do well. However, I can "play" Halo and find the single player enjoyable and also enjoying playing cooperative with a friend, but the multi player verses games, I am always last. I am used as target practice for everyone and I cannot get even 1 kill as for some reason, I shoot someone and they do not die but they can kill me in 1 shot -- I am suck that bad :redface::redface: Sports -- I cannot fathom the idea paying full price for the same game every year. I speak of games of the EA variety. Maddons, hockey, basketball, nas-car, etc… I enjoy some sports (NBA basketball) but cannot play the video games since the Genesis days. Many of todays sport game use analog control and I am have a hard time to play games with analog  I do enjoy sport game such as Baseball Stars 2, Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo basketball, Tennis 2k2, Wii Sports. Massive multiplayer online "role playing game" -- I do not know too much about these game but I have hard time to socialize with people I do not know:redface: I am more of a solitary person so these game do not appeal for me. On-line gaming (verses gaming) -- As I just state above, I do not do well in social situation with stranger  I was made fun of for much of my life and at school I have hard time interacting with others and was made fun of -- I became solitary fellow and very sensitive to my feelings and cannot handle well when strangers are poke fun at me -- also a reason I am more lurker on internet forums.
I can't stand most sports games, outside of mostly older Tony Hawk and such. I hate almost all of the new RPGs... they're almost all generic American crap that appeals to high-school anime kids. Eternal Sonata look good though... and I want Blue Dragon to be good but I'm not going to give a shot until it goes on sale. I also hate almost all 3D platformers, aside from some of the 32/64-bit era stuff like Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot. That was good stuff. I'm also not a fan of MMOs... it seems to me like running around for 8 hours a day killing monsters to level up and brag to your friends how high your level is and how much gold you have. I guess WoW is pretty neat artistically and it plays pretty well... but the fun just doesn't last for me. I mostly like JRPGs, some RTS, Tactical RPGs, FPSs, shmups, and (rarely) an occasional racing or rhythm game.
Personally i can't stand RPG's/ MMORPG's. To me they are sooooo boring and slow. Spending 100+ hours of uninspired turn based random battles and endless leveling up to see a total of 60 minutes of actual story that most times ends up going nowhere. I prefer instant action game genres like FPS/Platform/Beat-em up's/racing/shooters and such, propably because an average game session for me won't last more then 30-60 minutes at the most and want to see results within that time limit.
Are you talking about WRPGs? Not very many Western RPGs are "Heavily" Anime inspired. I haven't played Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata, but I think they were developed in Japan, but I could be wrong. If you're talking about Morrowind and Oblivion appealing to anime loving kids, because they can put Nomura style goth shop clothes and bishonen hairstyles in, well, thats just user made content. I can't play Morrowind and Oblivion without using cheats though, as the game moves at a snails pace. Oblivion lesser than Morrowind, but even Oblivion FORCES you to level up to get good stuff. This entire post has confused me, and I think there was a typo somewhere. A lot of JRPGs appeal to high school anime lovers. Some of them have nothing more than hentai fodder.
