I am an electrical, software and CAD engineer on Robotics and Automatism projects and I earn 1750 € a month. But I also know few people that do only CAd and they earn much more than me, between 3000 and 4000. I guess it all depends on the sector your work for.

You earn that in France? 1750? That's not much. You're probably not working fulltime though?
The guy I was hearing about was a CAD drawer, I remember now that they needed him "to program how the robot was going to cut the wood". I think he was working for some kind of outsourcing company that rented him out to others.

I do have a full time job (37,5 hours a week). Few monthes ago, I was doing 60 hours a week for 1660 euros per month. People get less and less paid here in France. I will not say that some jobs are not as good as others, but I really have a lot of pressure and the decisions I take when I design a production line or when I program a robot involve a lot of money. And I know a lot of people that don't have this pressure and they earn much more than me ! Fortunatly, my job is very interesting and I learn everyday. No everyone have this, so I won't complain about the money I have. And it gives me some free time to take care of my one month old baby and my wife (and also to developp on Wii U on my free time). Engineering in France isn't seen as it should be.

you should really try to get a raise - or another job. this is in no way what you should earn as a skilled person in a job like you got, Not even close to !

11€/h (and more if you include tips) is what most non qualified people earn in gastronomy/clubs/bars student jobs here ....... .
a friend cleaning the toilets at berghain earns more than you ...... :/.

Haha, it will be hard to earn more here ! A company in Scotland has offered me much more but my wife wasn't able to find a job there.
Business market in France is a shame. Even skilled people can't earn a lot. Only Manager can earn more money, and most manager don't even know what they are talking about when they talk with engineers....

I am looking to kickstart my video game project, in order to quit my job and start developping as full time job. But as Nintendos plans about their next system isn't yet clear, I can't do it now.

Well, like they say, that's the most important thing - that you like what your doing. A bit weird though. If they're ofering much more in Scotland go there. Let your wife look for jobs once you're there ^^

Where's that? A cleaner in Sweden earns €12.50/Hour or €2000/Month.

I really like Scotland, so it will be great to go there ! But as we have a young baby now, this is not the perfect timing to do it.

Life is more expensive in Sweden (as long as in Norway), so people earn much more money. But it doesn't mean that they can live well in Sweden or Norway. When I was working in Norway (I have worked in many countries, but for a French company), a simple cleaner was earning 4000 euros a month !

Yeah Norway has pretty much double the pay compared to Sweden. Lots of Swedes go there for work.
Life is more expensive but the living standard is way higher than everywhere in the world.

Right? Maybe it's because of the climate but Scandinavians are really chill.
But isn't now the best timing? It's going to get harder later when he's going to get friends and so on. Now it's just a dumb baby who couldn't care less where you are :D Later, having made friends etc he will put up a fight. And you could really use the money, especially since you just got a baby. Just my opinion.

Just try to move home, move job and move far from familly with a one month baby to figure out how difficult it can be. A baby need a safe and sure environment to grow up correctly. moving home and job offer too much complications.

No, I get that. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying there could be more complications later when it's not a baby. And it's good to have better pay especially when you have a baby. Sometging like that.

Well, in my opinion, kids between 4 and 10 can easily move to another place. We will see this later. Of course, more money is better for a baby, but time with parents is also very important. I have free time for the moment, and I don't know if I can find the same amount of free time in another job.

The dream is to rock directly from home as independant developper. I hope I will be able to do that soon ! :)

It was super hard for me to move at age 5-8, when my family moved several times. I had already a best friend and was separated from them each time I made a new one. That sucked hard.

Going independant is the best way for sure. Wish you and your kids best of luck. Alot of good stuff comes from France.

I moved a lot too, and yes, we can miss friend then. But kids are stronger than teenagers and they can easily make friend again (as I did).

Thanks a lot American Dad :)

And yes, some good things come from France, like going on strike, flashing the hotel made,.... hahaha
What I will miss a lot if I leave France is food.

Eh, I don't know anyone friends from when I was 8 years old. Can't really tell for sure if they'll stick by you. Most likely they don't.

Yes, well everyone is different and so are our experiences ^^

I was thinking more gamingwise, lol. Like Beyond Good & Evil, Rayman, Evil Twin Cyprien's Chronicles and so on. Unique visual and musical style.
